What do your nails say about you?

I know that there are so many things to keep track of in our daily lives that at times it can feel almost overwhelming, however if there is one thing that you should definitely keep track of it is your nails. Nails tell a lot about an individual, more than perhaps you may have realized. For example, short nails entail that that person has a very busy life in which they cannot be distracted with lengthy nails. Long kept nails illustrate a caring relationship with your nails. Nails with nail polish reveal that you have a desire to express yourself.

There are so many variations of meanings that can be derived from a person’s nails, but today I would like to focus on ugly nails. There are many types of ugly nails, the first are of course, the ones that are dirty underneath the nail. This tells people a number of things beginning with the fact that you obviously don’t wash your hands regularly, you don’t care enough to scrape that dirt out, you are content with touching dirty things, you are also content with touching clean things with your dirty nails, and lastly that you are okay with people seeing your dirty nails. All of these things add up to relay the message that you are lazy, dirty, and uncaring about your appearance. Another type of nail that warrants discussion is the long, craggly nail that some women and men have. This nail illustrates a general uncaring for yourself along with others, because lets face it, if your nails are long and unkept then you definitely aren't touching anyone. The worst offender in my opinion, are the chipped nails polished, unkept toenails. This screams volumes to me, and I frequently hear these screams throughout the entire UCI campus because it seems as if every woman has neglected her feet. Nail polish on toes lasts an incredibly long time. It could look near perfect for up to a month. So when I see toenails that are chipped and craggly I know that that person has not taken care of their feet for over a month. This factor makes me wary of that person, especially if I plan on getting to know them. So please, for your own sake, take care of your nails, because trust me, people notice.

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
