11 Nail Polish Ideas For Every Mood

There’s no better way to brighten your day and possibly even your week than to paint your nails. Whether you’re the type of girl who likes to be pampered and goes to get manicures on a regular basis or you like to paint your nails on your own because you can try new things and experience the relaxation first hand, here are some nail polishes for you. I’ve come up with a list of nail polish designs/shades for every mood that you could encounter, and these colors will definitely be a cure.

1. Adventurous

A great way to embrace your wild side is by picking a color that nicely reflects just how you feel! With light purple nail polish, you can successfully make a statement, and if your adventurous attitude is not just a mood but an action, it’s a great color to take with you wherever your travels may lead you.

2. Seasonal

You are a pretty high fashion girl if you know how to keep up with the trends in nail polish as they change from month to month. Typically, darker colors and highly shimmering or glittery polish are popular in the fall and winter, and the spring and summer bring the change of lighter and bright colors that pop. Since it’s summer, I recommend this bright green polish to make your hands stand out.

3. #Feeling yourself

For this mood, you’re likely to pick a bold color that shows off how you’re in a surprisingly good mood, or just that you wouldn’t mind a little more attention than normal because you know you look good. I recommend a medium to light and bold blue that naturally draws eyes to your hands. Pair it with some great jewelry and you’re ready to go!

4. Chic

In my book, a classic bright white polish is still the best way to have the most chic hands wherever you go. While some people think that white is only for the warmer months, I know that it is great for any time of year because it goes with everything and makes your hands look fresh and well kept up no matter what.

5. Sad

Painting your nails in general is always a good fix for being down in the dumps. However, if I had to choose one color that would quickly lift anyone’s spirits, I would recommend coral. This bright color will make your hands look happy, which in turn will make you feel the same way.

6. Classy

Those hands that look great doing anything. You know what I mean, this is the lady who whether she’s reaching for her drink across the table or just holding her phone and typing, her hands always look flawlessly classy. In order to get people to think this about your hands, I say to go for a light colored pink or off-white to bring eyes to your fingers without making it blatantly clear why they look so great.

7. Minimalistic

You can never go wrong with a classic french manicure. If you are in a more traditional or strict environment, the white tips on the end of your nails are not too distracting for most people. However, your fingers will still look very presentable in any situation and you get the fix of the feeling that your nails are done.

8. Trendy

It’s not hard to spot new ideas with nail polish if you flip through any of the main magazines, and if you’re feeling particularly trendy, you should try color block nails or go on Pinterest and search different nail ideas to play around with the different lines and patterns to make your nails unique and likely attract a lot of compliments from your friends.

9. Flirty

Although this suggestion is for a flirtatious or a romantic mood, you can always count on a classic red to show off your inner desires. Red is always the color associated with love and lust, so you will not be misunderstood sporting this vivid color.

10. Artsy

As time goes on, nail artists are becoming more and more creative in their artwork. If you’re feeling a bit inventive and think you have the steady hands that it takes, I recommend going online and finding a nail project to do. I have tried painting my nails white and then using old newspaper and magazines with rubbing alcohol to transfer print letters for decoration. Try anything you want, if it doesn't go right, you can always just start over again!

11. Inspired

Where does it say that nail polish has to only be about making yourself look and feel better? It can also be a way to express your art or even a message that you are passionate about. Try writing on your nails (or grab a friend) to write a short message in Sharpie and then cover it with a clear coat to complete the look.

Have fun with all of these styles over your summer break!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
