It's time to drop the bright summer colors and cuddle up to the fire with the fall shades I adore so much.

If you're as excited and I am to be moving away from the neon orange, electric blues and bright pinks, then here are the nail colors you must have for fall.

Mustard

Mustard yellow, or curry yellow, is my go-to color for all things from fashion to polish. This fall join in with the bright, fun but outdoorsy color that everyone should have in their nail polish stash. These colors run from more yellow to more brown, but all are perfect for fall.

Never A Dulles Moment - OPI ($10) This color looks very yellow in the bottle but on the nail comes out with a spiced yellow look.

Thakoon Amchoor - NARS ($20) Another one that looks super yellow in the bottle, but comes out more golden. It definitely leans more yellow, but is not a summer yellow.

Bumster - Butter London($15) Depending on your skin tone, this may not be the right mustard yellow for you, but if you have a more olive skin tone, this comes out the perfect mustard yellow, but if you are paler or darker it looks beige.

Golden Opportunity - China Glaze ($7.50) This mustard yellow has a little bit of shimmer in it, and will be sure to give your nails a little pop if you're not a huge solid color fan.

Unique Metallics and Duo-Chromes

These indie polishes are all the rage this fall. Duo-chrome and metallic colors are always a hit for fall but this year take a step away from the drug store and pick up these indie colors from Picture Polish.
All 4 of these are $10 plus shipping since they come from Australia.

Borealis This is a multichromatic shimmer and glitter that shifts between electric blue, royal purple, a hint of bright magenta, and warm bronze.

Aurora This is a more glitter packed shade, it shifts between green, blue, purple and pink.

Solar Flare shifts between red, orange, gold and green.

Gravity shifts between blue and purple with a scattering of holographic shimmer/glitter.

Plum

Plum is a staple in fall colors, but you have never have too many shades. From deep purple to berry, plum polishes can run the gambit. Whether you lean more towards warm colors or cool, you'll be sure to find a plum perfect for

La Laque Couture - Yves Saint Laurent ($28) Although you might have to splurge for this polish, this vintage plum color is so smooth and right between the super warm berry shades and colder dark plum shades.

kimono-over - Essie ($8) Essie went for a cold, almost blue plum color with a little bit of shine in it. If you want to be able to take this color into winter this might be the best bet for you.

Violet Vixen - L'oreal ($5) A very berry color for those of you that are not quite ready to say goodbye to summer. Since this is more pink than the other plum colors it's a good transition from summer into fall.

Margo - Zoya ($10) A dusty plum color is always beautiful for fall. With Zoya you get the balance between cool and warm with a dash of grey if you're afraid of bright colors.

Grey

Grey by itself is also becoming popular for all seasons. To take it into fall try some of these with a matte top coat.

Tove - Zoya ($10) An already matte/satin finish, this is a blue-toned grey polish, perfect if you don't own a matte top coat.

Love in the Dunes - Deborah Lippmann ($15) A purple-toned grey that could be mauve, warm enough for fall.

CIA= Color Is Awesome - OPI ($10) This green-toned grey looks like metal and will pull together any chic outfit.

Angie - Julep ($14) A holo-grey for those of you that live for the sparkle, it's a fun color if you're not going to be in an office setting in the fall.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
