A Letter To My Mom On Her Birthday
Ronald Dwyer

Dear Mom,

Happy birthday! This is one of the most special days in my life every year because it was the day that you were born and I get to celebrate you the way that you deserve to be celebrated!

I shouldn't just tell you this on your birthday because you deserve to hear it everyday, but I just can't thank you enough for everything that you do for me to make me happy and for giving me the greatest life. Your love and support means everything to me and I would never be the person I am today if it weren't for you. Thank you for being my best friend.

You never fail to amaze me. Your heart is bigger than the world and watching you offer your love and support to others is so inspiring. You are an absolutely beautiful human being inside and out; a true angel sent from Heaven, here doing God's work.

You have raised me to become who I am and there are no words to describe how thankful I am to be able to call you my mom. Thank you for always going out of your way to make me happy, but most importantly, thank you for being my mom. You are definitely the coolest mom out there. You're so much fun to be around and you light up the room when you walk in, always putting a smile on everyone's faces.

Thank you for being my number one inspiration and role model. Thank you for always picking me up when I am down, for being the shoulder to lean on and cry on, and for always leading me down the right path. Thank you for pushing me to become a nurse even when the going gets tough because if it weren't for you — and dad —, I probably would have given up by now and would have regretted that decision for the rest of my life. Thank you for holding my hand and loving me with all that you are.

I love you more than anything and I hope that you have the best day today and everyday because you deserve it. Happy birthday momma!

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
