Mom And Dad: My Two Biggest Cheerleaders
Abby Campbell

To Mom and Dad,

There is so much I want to say and definitely not enough words to describe how much I fully appreciate you two.

Through every heartbreak, friend breakups, and even those awful math grades I came in with that made me feel like I wanted to curl up in a ball and never leave my room, you two were there.

My first heartbreak, you taught me that nobody who treated me so poorly was worth so many tears. You reminded me that I was a daughter of a king and therefore, I need to wait on my heavenly father's perfect timing.

You let me cry it out even though I'm kinda a drama queen and can really get on y'all nerves sometimes with all my teenage emotions and crazy text rants while I'm at school when I need someone to text and get it all out.

Every single football game, pep rally, y'all are there, and if you can't be y'all are still just as encouraging being my cheerleaders even if it's just through a phone call or text. Every time I need a uniform washed, one of y'all help me. Every night if I'm stressing over something somehow y'all know the exact words to calm me down.

You each remind me to take big leaps because I never might know what could become of them until I try,

As Donald Trump says "if you're gonna think, you might as well think big."

You both encourage me daily to think even bigger each day and to dream of doing the "impossible."

When I said I want to just major in political science and become a lawyer one day, you both said "Why not Governor after?" Y'all make me want to accomplish all I can in this lifetime. You don't laugh at my dreams, No matter how big and even ridiculous, you both smile and figure out what I can do to make them bigger and better.

Mom; I couldn't do life without you. Truly and honestly you are my best friend. I'm beyond thankful for our mommy-daughter shopping days where we jam out to Adele and DNCE. You help me with every cheerleading thing, every high school activity, and anything else I need help with or just a hand to hold.

Dad; No matter what the guy is like that I marry one day, you will always be the most important man in my life. From teaching me how to drive, teaching me how to shoot a gun, or how to be the best person I can be and to NEVER be afraid to speak my opinion, even if that means standing alone for what I believe in.

I love you both above the stars and heavens, around the world a billion times, and most importantly, I love y'all to the moon and back.

Thank you for being so amazing, You both are my person, I am truly so blessed with cool parents.

Xoxo, your daughter who loves you so

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
