My True Passion In Life

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a writer. I write about any and everything literally every chance I get. I even carry a notebook with me in my purse or book bag in case I get inspired. Writing truly is my passion.

I've been writing, creatively, for as long as I can remember. The first award I got for my writing was in the first grade. I was awarded "Most Creative Poem". At the time I wasn't that excited or even had that much pride because, well, I was only six. Now that I'm older and can look back at that and many others like it, I can see how easily inspired I was at such a young age.

I feel like I have two passions: writing and teaching. I am a middle level education major with cognates in English and Social Studies. I really enjoy teaching and helping students grow academically and as individuals, but writing is my first love.

Any time I can write about anything, I leap at the chance. I believe that teaching is my calling, but I believe writing is, too. I'm always curious to know how my writing will change my life or the lives of others. I think it's meant for me and I'm blessed I have found both of my passions at such a young age.

So my question is: what's your passion? What truly makes you happy and brings you an immeasurable amount of joy? If you don't know what it is, yet, I encourage you to find out. Explore different things, try new hobbies; just figure out what you love and never give up on it. Too many people let their passions die because it's too hard or doesn't guarantee a high salary, but who cares about money when your passion is involved? Live your life filled with ambition and passion so when you look back, you'll have no regrets.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help.
