My Trip to Colorado

Once you leave, you will never want to go back.

My Trip to Colorado

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – bn Battuta

That is exactly what my trip to Colorado did to me. I was speechless and entirely in awe of what this beautiful state had to offer. Not only did I get to venture away from my everyday life and experience something new, but I also experienced a lot of personal growth. This trip impacted me in so many ways that I did not know were possible.

When I left for Colorado, it was my very first time going on a plane. I was dropped off at the airport by myself, and as I waited in the line for security, I was just hoping to make it out alive. I was terrified of what it was going to be like because I had no idea what to expect. Once I made it past security, the rest was easy flying. I also realized that I love turbulence and how much better it is to fly than drive. After I got off the plane, I walked over to a window at the airport and looked outside, and my first impression of Colorado was how beautiful the mountains were and how I had never seen anything like it before.

On the trip I also attended my first major league baseball game. Last minute my friends and I bought tickets to the Rockies and Yankees game, and it was worth all of the money spent. Most people would have thought that I had already attended a major league game because of how huge of a sports fan I am, but I really never got out that much. I also have a thing for how stadiums look lit up at night, and it was a picture perfect view.

Going up into the mountains was a trip in itself. I have never seen a mountain town before, and I got to see Vail and Breckenridge. It was so memorable, and the mountains are absolutely gorgeous. My friends made it a priority to see a granola (a person who lives deep in the mountains) while there, but unfortunately we didn't run into one. I can't wait to return to the mountains in the heart of winter to try to go snowboarding.

Despite everything Colorado had to offer me, the best part of the trip was getting to experience it all with my friends. The laughs and talks and sense of adventure was the needed break away from reality I didn't know I needed. I now have this urge to travel all over the country and experience as much as I can, even though my checking account doesn't necessarily agree with me. Until next time...

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
