So it doesn’t take a genius to notice that news of the election is everywhere and has been for about a year now. Let me start off by saying that I have stayed relatively quiet during the campaign. That being said, I have to do an article about some recent news involving the presidential race because I have been so upset and have had this on my mind since the moment a recent scandal hit the headlines.
Let me start off by honestly stating that I am an independent voter who leans more towards the republican side of the issues, but that being said, I am not and have not been a supporter in any way of Donald J. Trump. I see him as an attention-seeking power-hungry man and a disgrace to politics. Donald Trump has had a shameful amount of scandals this campaign that, in my opinion, do not hold a candle to Hillary Clinton's email misconduct, an issue that is hardly even a scandal considering all her emails were made public by the justice department over a year ago and posted to the internet for the public to view.
Most recently Donald Trump made some statements back stage referring to a married woman whom he sexual assaulted. Most of you have probably heard it at least once, considering it has been played on the internet and television countless times since. If you haven’t heard it, I suggest you Google it and take a listen for yourselves. The content is by simple definition disgusting. However Trump and his supports, consisting of largely scared and ignorant people, have argued against any diminishing of Trump’s character by simply posting statements such as “that's just locker room banter” or “that's how all men are and talk like when there together.” What surprises me is a lot of women are the ones agreeing that what Trump said is ok, despite Trump's constant bullying of women, such as when Trump himself stated it is very hard for a flat chested woman to be a 10, Tweeting that the late Princess Diana was crazy, but beautiful and that's all the mattered about her, and even liking tweets referring to Megan Kelly as a bimbo. Ironic side note Megan Kelly is an extremely accomplished FOX news anchor that Trump dislikes because she asks “unfair questions,” but to Trump, calling her a bimbo is fair.
So here is my rebuttal as a 22-year-old educated college graduate male. I have a large amount of male friends of all different creeds and backgrounds. Some are rich, some are poor, many of them are straight, but some are gay, and of all different ethnicities. Never in my 22 years as a man have I spoken or have my friends spoken about any women the way Donald Trump has. If you are a women reading this and your partner or friend speaks like Trump in that tape, even just around his friends, then I am about to tell you some very harsh news so get ready. A man does not speak this way, but an insecure, spoiled boy and a bully most certainly does. I don't care if he has bigger muscles than anyone else or more money in his bank account than some small countries do. If he speaks like Trump in that tape, he is not a man. A real man treats others with respect and works really hard to earn the respect of others, and is also not threatened so much by the thought of a woman being his equal or even superior in one or more of the many aspects in his life that he reduces himself to that of a 8th grade bully. A real man respects women and remembers that he has a mother and a grandmother and or a sister or niece or daughter or friend, and worries about them whenever hearing an offender be cheered for assaulting someone just because she is an attractive women.
To all you Trump supporters that made it to the end of this article without deleting me and or making a subliminal status, let me ask you some questions. Maybe you have or if you're still very young like me will potentially have a daughter. Imagine her as a little girl, then as a young lady, and then imagine what it would feel like if she was insulted or assaulted by a man, or even worse she is sexually assaulted or molested, as a lot of my female friends have been. Imagine the terror on her face, sadness in her heart, and the sleepless nights and life long pain she would face that could potentially cost her a career and the ability to form or hold on to positive relationships. Would you tell her to deal with it because that's just how men are? Would you not care if that guy bragged about it?
Would you vote him into office to be the president of the United States of America?
