I strongly believe that the film industry doesn't get the credit it deserves for providing us with these incredible cinematic works of art. Movies have the power to take us to a whole other world. They can make us laugh, cry, think, and are just an overall good sense of entertainment. I will admit that I am not a huge "movie buff," but I do enjoy a good movie from time to time. I don't really watch horror movies, but aside from that I don't really have a stereotypical movie genre — although most of this list falls under romantic/comedy. Here is a list of my top ten movie recommendations of all the movies I have watched so far.
Honorable Mentions:
The Perks of Being A Wallflower (2013), Titanic (1997), and 17 Again (2009)
10. Disney movies
All of them. Just do it. Binge watch and don't look back.
9. Alice In Wonderland (1951 & 2010)
"Have I gone mad?" "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are." I don't know why, but over the past couple of years I have suddenly developed this interesting fascination with this story. I haven't watched the most recent movie yet, but I'm sure to love it, because of the fact that I love the growth and depth of Alice as a character from the first to the second movie, from an innocent little girl to a daring teenager, which shows how much I love how time and history can impact the creation of a movie. Tim Burton's movie shows an Alice that is smarter, daring, and is independent without a man at her side. I commend this movie for being one of many on this list for having a strong feminist character, who isn't afraid to say what she wants and is held back by no one. This is evident when is she is talking to the Red Queen's hunter-dog Bayard.
8. Trainwreck (2015)
"Amy Schumer makes you laugh till it hurts." - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
I couldn't agree more. I only watched this movie once and shamefully I admit, recently. I put this movie as one of my top ten movies, because of the fact that it is so funny and for Amy's strong female role in this movie.

7. American Pie Presents Beta House (2007)
I love the American Pie movies. I actually watched all of them in one whole week last semester, still a little late, I know. I would say what has drawn me to this movies, is the partying college life style. The American Pie movies, especially Beta House, have shown me that even though I don't go to an exceptionally over-the-top party school with ten different fraternities — or any for that matter — to just embrace life and have fun every once in a while.
6. Moulin Rouge (2001)
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." I saw this movie, for the first time, during my senior year of high school in my theatre class and I still can't help but admire it almost three years later. It is on this list, because of it's captivating visuals, encapsulating story-line, and heartbreaking loss that truly ripped my heart to shreds every-time watching it. It is one movie that I continually watch where I'm not always like, "... and now this will happen again." I like it when a movie is so strong that you can it repeatedly without getting bored by it, and Moulin Rouge is a movie that won't bore me anytime soon.
5. Clue (1985)
This is the only mystery movie on the list, and I added it to my list because of the suspense during the whole movie. The very first time I watched the movie, I was glued to my computer screen. I really enjoy this movie, because it inspires me to be a better actor by seeing all these actors so committed to their roles which just further drew me into the movie.

4. Paper Towns (2015)
I watched the whole movie for the first time today (side note: I'm absolutely awful at watching movies when they first come out). I decided to include this movie, over The Fault In Our Stars, because it is more relatable for me. If there is anything anyone should know about me is that I want to spend my life traveling the world. This movie brings out a sense of reckless adventure and excitement, that I would admit that I'd like to have more of in my life. I also have to commend Cara Delevingne for her American accent in the movie, as well.
3. Stonehearst Asylum (2014)
This movie is probably the one out of the whole list that is the most unheard of, and is actually the movie I suggest to my friends when they ask for suggestions. I watched it last fall, and thought it was a fairly good movie. I mostly added it to this list, aside from it's fantastic story-line, is because of an unexpected moment at the very end of the movie that made my mind go, "whoosh... #mindblown." This movie is the only thriller on my list, and has been the only movie that I've watched that made me still think about it for days after watching it.
2. Mean Girls (2004)
"On Wednesdays we wear pink!" "That is so fetch." "Danny Devito, I love your work." This has to be the most quotable movie of all time, and Lindsay Lohan's most iconic role: Cady Heron. This movie taught me the importance of staying true to yourself while not judging other people for the way they look, how they act, or who they are.
1. Legally Blonde (2001)
Bend and snap. Legally Blonde will always be one of my favorite movies. Reese Witherspoon is hands down my favorite actress of all time. From watching her in Wild, Fear, and in Sweet Home Alabama I have grown to love everything about her. Legally Blonde, to me, is perfect in that it shows how Witherspoon's iconic character Elle Woods goes to Harvard Law school to get back her man, but discovers something in herself that transcends more than looks and more on intellect. I have to commend this movie for showing me that first impressions aren't everything and for teaching me that if you want something in life, you have to work at it 110 percent.
