It's fall season and before you know it, you'll be ready to curl up with some hot coco and a good book! Here are a few of my favorite books of all time.

Surrounding the life of Brooke, a junior in high school, it explains the struggles of her life as her mom goes to jail after stabbing her abusive father to death, causing her whole life to turn upside down. Brooke must now juggle a new school and living with her mom's best friend, she barely knows.

Ps. I Like You: Kasie West

As Lily starts her school year, she gets so bored in chemistry, she begins writing song lyrics on the desk. The next day, she sees someone has continued the song. Shocked by this, she begins writing to her secret pen pal daily until they become full of letters. She then begins falling for her secret letter writer and tries to figure out who he is.

All American Mulism Girl: Nadine Jolie Courtney

This novel details the life of Allie as she goes on a journey to find her Muslims faith. She battles islamophobia throughout her small town especially with her boyfriend's dad who is the most conservative man she's met.

Two Can Keep a Secret: Karen M. Mcmanus

Ellery and her twin brother must move in with their grandma in Echo-Ridge where their aunt went missing 15 years ago. The small town has many secrets and mystery disappearances and deaths throughout the years and right as Ellery and her brother move in, the popular homecoming candidate goes missing. Ellery then begins following the clues to determine the culprit.

American Panda: Gloria Chao

Mei, a freshman at MIT, is on track to becoming a doctor and marrying a Twainese boy just as her parents wanted. However, Mei is far from that. She hates Biology and germs and has a crush on a Japanese boy. After she starts to reconnect with her estranged brother, who married an infertile woman, therefore has been shunned from the family, she learns the truth and wonders if keeping secrets from her parents would benefit her in the end.

I Believe in a Thing Called Love: Maurene Goo

Desi is good at everything, as a varsity soccer star and student body president, she has her heart set on Stanford, however, her love life is nonexistent. When she meets the hottest guy in school, she decides to go for him by studying the Korean dramas her dad has been obsessing over for years. The protagonist always ends up falling madly in love and she thinks it can happen to her as well. When her feelings become real, she learns that she can't learn everything from a drama.

The Way I Used to Be: Amber Smith

The night after her brother's best friend rapes her, Eden's world is flipped upside down. This four part novel follows Eden through all 4 years of high school as she buries who she used to be and tries to figure out who she is.

If I was Your Girl: Meredith Russo

Amanda has just moved in with her dad and all she wants is to fit in at her new school and make friends, however Amanda is hiding the secret that she used to be Andrew, and is keeping her distance. When she meets Grant however, she can't help but let him in, wanting to tell him everything about her life, but telling him might cost her everything.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
