With summer comes free time, and that means time to binge watch some shows without feeling guilty about procrastinating! This list is definitely a look at what I prefer to watch on Netflix. Some of you may not like these shows that I think are binge-worthy. That being said I believe they are all great and should at least be given a chance!

1. "House of Cards"

This is easily my top recommendation for anyone who is looking for something to binge-watch on Netflix. For those of you who have no idea what this show is about I will not spoil anything here. Just go and start watching. Basically what you need to know is that this show follows the character Frank Underwood and his quest for political power in the United States government. I may have made that sound as boring as possible, but I really don't want to spoil the excitement in this show. This has easily been one of my favorite shows to watch. (Not to mention, Saint Mary's alum Mahershala Ali is in it.)

2. "Sense8"

Honestly, while this show is great, it is not for everyone. If you have not watched this yet let me just tell you now that it is a commitment. Though the show is only one season you have to pay close attention to what is happening or you will get lost. The reason for that is that the show follows eight main characters who discover one day that they all have a connection. Also, for those of you who enjoyed the "Matrix" trilogy, this is written and produced by the same people. If you can get through a few episodes of feeling confused before finally understanding what is happening (somewhat), then watch this. I am anxiously awaiting season 2 which is set to be released in January of 2017.

3. "Arrow"

So if you are a comic book and/or superhero fan then you need to watch this show. "Arrow" follows the story of Oliver Queen, a man who survived five years in hell (not literally). The show picks up with him returning to save his city. As the show constantly reminds us to do this, he has to become something else, in this case the vigilante hero the Green Arrow. This is one of the many DC shows on the CW that you can find past seasons of on Netflix. So, if you enjoy watching this there are other to watch and you can catch the new season this Fall.

4. "The Flash"

This is yet another DC show on the CW and it is a must-watch if you are also watching "Arrow." This show follows Barry Allen, the fastest man alive, also known as The Flash. There is a catch to watching this one though. I suggest not watching it at all until you have watched the first two seasons of "Arrow." The reason for this is that they are in the same universe. "The Flash" actually begins during the third season of "Arrow" so for the best experience you should wait to watch it until then. "The Flash" also has yet to have a horrible season in my opinion, even though there have only been two.

5. "The 100"

I really just got into this show in the past year myself, so I haven't even caught up on the most recent season. That being said, I still believe that this show has some serious potential to be amazing. This show has just finished their third season and follows a group of 100 children who have been sent down to Earth. Why were they not on Earth to begin with, you ask? Well, that is because this is set in the future after a nuclear war. These people have spent several generations living in a giant space station waiting for the world to be habitable again. The 100 children have been sent down to test just that. I started watching this show on a whim but after the first few episodes, I was hooked. If adventure, survival, or post-apocalyptic worlds are your thing then check this out.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
