My Top 5 Netflix Must-Sees For The End Of The Summer

Netflix. The cheaper alternative to cable that probably led you to wasting two hours on a crappy movie no one has ever heard of. Here are a few of my favorite shows Netflix has to offer. (In no particular order.)

1. Season three of "Orange Is The New Black."

You couldn't have a best-of-Netflix list without including this Netflix original series. This comedy set in an all women's prison is full of drama and surprises.

2. Season six of "Gossip Girl."

"Gossip Girl" is all about the inner workings up the Upper East Side elites. It may sound snobby, but I guarantee their drama is more fun to watch than that of the average suburb. The show is filled with scandal, debauchery, and also some of the best love stories of our time.

3. Season nine of "One Tree Hill."

By far one of the best shows I have seen, "One Tree Hill" must have done something right to run for nine seasons. Between watching these two gorgeous co-stars play basketball and rooting for your favorite couple, you will have binged watched it in no time.

4. Season five of "Friday Night Lights."

This football drama is set in the epitome of small-town America. It follows two champion football teams through five years of ups and downs, not only on the field but with life in general.

5. Season two of "Young & Hungry."

Even though "Y&H" is still airing new episodes on ABC Family, who has time to keep up week by week when you can binge watch them all in a few days? It follows young chef Gabby through daily life in a new job after culinary school.

Even though there are only a couple weeks of summer break left, if you work extra hard you can fit all these great shows in before school starts (and still have time for your afternoon nap).

April Ludgate
NBC Universal

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
