While this week has been the average random swing of weather patterns in New England, it's fall now and soon enough winter will be coming. With that comes weeks of getting out of class or work, and putting on some Netflix movie on those days where it's too comfortable inside with your fuzzy socks to ever think about moving from your preferred spot. With this type of weather in mind, I've compiled a list of some of my favorite movies that I love to put on any given rainy/cold day.

1. Pulp Fiction.

Probably, if not the, pinnacle of Quentin Tarantino's movies to watch. An instant, but rather bloody classic that follows two gangsters, a boxer, and two restaurant robbers that cross paths and interlink their stories throughout the movie. Flawless in its direction, humor, and bloodiness Pulp Fiction is not a classic to miss.

2. Gladiator.

Following the story of Roman General Maximus Meridius and the murder of his family and the emperor, the movie sees the rise of Maximus from slave, to gladiator, to liberator of Rome. While this movie may not be an all time favorite to put on for one of those cold days, I love the movie too much to not add it to any movie listicle I make.

3. Dazed and Confused.

The funny things about this movie is that until the other day I hadn't actually watched it, despite multiple friends having been outraged at this fact in the past (oops). I'm glad I did though, because Dazed and Confused takes you back to the 70's and shows teenagers doing exactly what we do now-a-days, but with cooler cars and some real groovy spots to chill out in. I definitely threw this flick on the other day after a long day in the library and did not regret just chilling out to this movie.

4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

This movie definitely deals with more mature themes, and can certainly leave you a little depressed after watching it. One of my favorite movies including Jim Carey and Kate Winslet, that deals with the theme of erasing memories of a loved one after a break-up. Throughout the film, we follow Joel Barish inside his own mind as he decides to erase memories of his girlfriend Clementine, but after a certain point Joel finds himself attempting to cling onto the memories and ultimately failing to do so.

5. Trainspotting.

In this 1996 comedy-drama film based on the novel of the same name we follow heroin addict Mark Renton (Ewon McGregor) and his group of friends in Scotland. Filled with a quirky, realistic narrator the movie deals with the realities of drug use and the tolls it begins to show on the characters in the movies. To add on, a trailer has recently been released for Trainspotting 2, a sequel set 20 years later which looks absolutely awesome for those who have already watched the first!!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
