My Top 5 Most Influential TV Shows

In This Article:

Being the TV/movie lover that I am I have a very long list of TV shows that have blown me away, but that's for another time. These are some of the TV shows that taught me valuable lessons while simultaneously capturing my attention and forcing me to get invested with each character. Of course, you may have different opinions for each of them, these are just my personal experiences with each show.

Game Of Thrones

Revenge. Power. Love. This incredible series teaches you how the people you love the most may not be who you thought they were. It shows how anyone is able to change if they want to. Though this takes place in a completely different time period it addresses many topics that relate back to our society. It shows that anyone can become a hero or a villain. The show does a great job of getting you attached to characters who develop throughout the series. I have to say that not only is this one of my favorite shows but it also taught me how to be a strong, opinionated individual.

Grey’s Anatomy

This show tackles a lot of issues in my opinion. Not only does it deal a lot with mental health issues but it also shows the audience that everyone has problems in their life and the only way to get through it is to have a good support system. This is one of the shows that I have found myself continually crying. The series does a great job of giving you different perspectives of all the characters' lives while still only focusing on one character. You also get attached to the characters very easily because the show makes you feel as if you were living the life of the character. This show may not appeal to everyone, but if you get the opportunity to watch it I would suggest doing so.

American Horror Story

American Horror Story is one of the first shows that was impactful on me at a young age. It tackles issues like bullying, mental illness, and self-worth. Also, each season is a different storyline meaning that you never get bored. On top of that, it's a horror show so you're always on your toes wondering what's gonna happen next.

Orange Is The New Black

This is also one of the shows that were a tearjerker. Orange Is The New Black also tackles some of the issues that we are facing in our society. The show taught me that you shouldn't judge someone by what they have done or looked like.

New Girl

New Girl is always seen as a comedy but in my opinion, it's a little more than that. This series shows what true family is while following the lives of roommates. It shows that just because you aren't related to someone doesn't mean that they aren't family. Similar to Grey's Anatomy this series shows that even if you are going through a rough time you will get through it with a support system.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour
StableDiffusion

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
