I know everyone has their own specific TV/movie preferences , but when it comes to Netflix, it can be difficult to figure out what to watch due to its limited selection. Especially after you've already watched "Gossip Girl" from beginning to end three times (yes, I have done that), you might find yourself in a "Netflix lull." If you feel you fit into this category, here are some of my favorite go-to Netflix TV shows for all different tastes and preferences.
If you like raunchy, sophisticated drama, filled with unattainable beauty, a good go-to is (as I mentioned before), "Gossip Girl." It's nice to take a break from ordinary life once in a while and step into a world of galas, private jets, private schools and not-so private affairs. It may be categorized as a "girly show," but I know countless guys who enjoy watching it. After all, who doesn't love watching Blake Lively do... well, anything?
If you want an easy watch that you'll find yourself unexpectedly hooked on, you have to give "Parks and Rec" a try. If you like "The Office" and have been skeptical to watch "Parks and Rec" because you thought it was a knockoff, have no fear, both shows were made by the same editors. While the type of humor might be similar, the shows are very different and Amy Poehler, star and producer of the show, is a comedic genius. One of my favorite things about the show is that a substantial portion of it is improv, and I haven't gone through a full episode without laughing out loud.
If you're looking for a more serious and action-filled show to blow your mind and surprise you with countless twists, I suggest you watch "Breaking Bad." One thing with this show is that you have to give it some time. I had to restart the show twice before I finally got past the third episode, but stick with it, it's worth it. My favorite thing about this series is the connections you make due to its symmetry throughout seasons.
For your closeted nerdy side, I recently have found myself very into "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey." The show features history, science, technology, astrology, physics and probably a ton of other things I'm not familiar with, but it's a perfect way to be entertained while learning simultaneously.
A timeless classic that will never get old and will always be relatable no matter the generation has finally been added to Netflix, all ten seasons of it. What's nice about "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" is that you don't have to follow the show from the beginning to be entertained and connected to the characters, but seeing the dynamics and relationships form, then later transform, just adds to how much we love this group of six best buds.
Whether you are in a "Netflix lull" or just getting started on the site, I hope these suggestions may have helped you pick your next guilty pleasure.
