When one goes to an amusement park they think of all the cool rides they get to go on, people like me look forward to specifically the roller coasters. In my life, I have been on some really epic coasters such as Rock n' Roller coaster from Hollywood Studios and Hulk from Islands of Adventure too many coasters to name that I love. It is tough to think of the ones I love the most, because I have a blast on all of them, but my favorite roller coasters from any park are as follows:

5. Manta (Sea World)

This roller coaster takes the phrase, "you feel like you are flying" to a whole new level. With the specifics of getting strapped into the coaster they then tip you on your stomach so you really do feel like you are flying and with high speeds and loops it is definitely a must for anyone who loves roller coasters.

4. Cheetah Hunt (Busch Gardens)

This coaster imitates the speed that cheetahs run at which is over 70mph only difference is this one goes from 0-70mph in a matter of 3 seconds from the get go. It then takes you on a track with sharp turns and loops and corkscrews you feel like you are a cheetah hunting in a jungle. I went on this during my freshman year of high school and it is still one of my favorites.

3. Sheikra (Busch Gardens)

The tallest roller coaster I have ever been on makes the list mainly for its ability to make dizzy (haha) it is definitely one of the fastest, but most fun coasters I have ever been on with the intense speed and the G-forces getting to you. If you are brave enough then you will conquer.

2. Rip Ride Rocket (Universal Studios)

My top 2 has to do with the music while the ride is in action. This one, Rip Ride Rocket lets you pick one of your favorite songs to listen to while the ride is going. For me, I always play the hard rock/metal genre with songs ranging from Motley Crue to Limp Bizkit that beat definitely gives the ride an extra edge in terms of fun and excitement.

1. Rock n' Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith (Hollywood Studios)

This roller coaster most definitely takes the cake for me as number 1 based on the ride as a whole. For me, Aerosmith is definitely one of my favorite bands of all time and to ride an epic roller coaster with some of their hits playing in my ear such as "Dude Looks Like a Lady" and "Walk This Way" I was truly in awe at how amazing this ride was. Another factor for this ride are the attractions you see inside such as tour signs and crowds cheering so with Aerosmith playing in the background and seeing the signs you feel like you are a rock star loved by millions. This coaster, in my opinion, is one of a kind in my book.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
