If there was one thing that I simply could not give up, it would be the drinks at Dr. Jack’s Coffeehouse . They simply enhance my college experience (and, not to mention, keep me awake while finishing a paper). I just cannot seem to go a whole week without one! Whether I am super busy or just chilling, I will be needing my go-to coffee at least once a week.
1. White Chocolate Mocha
It is espresso mixed with white chocolate syrup; best served hot with whipped cream on top. This is the aforementioned “go-to drink” that I consume on a weekly basis—maybe more than that even. And sometimes, to mix things up a bit, I add an additional flavor to it. Caramel, toffee nut, and hazelnut are good compliments with the white chocolate. If you really need a boost, ask for an extra shot of espresso.
2. Caramel Apple Cider
Simple, classic fall drink; served hot (whipped cream optional). As soon as the weather starts to turn cold and autumn is in full swing, this is a great drink to have at night. It has little, if any, caffeine and the warmth will soothe your soul after a long day of school work. My only problem with this one, however, is that it is a seasonal drink. As a matter of fact, it has already left the menu for this season. Peppermint and praline (and other Christmas flavors) have replaced it.
3. Passion Tea Lemonade
This is an iced drink made with tea and lemonade (as the name implies). Passion tea is an herbal tea that is made from passion fruit, hibiscus, rose hips, and orange peel. And it happens to be a dark pink color. This is definitely the most tropical drink on this list. I enjoy it most during the spring and summer when the weather is warm outside. It is a great option if you do not like coffee or if you want something cold to drink. This is the only “sweet” tea I drink because sugar actually makes it better, whereas, in regular tea, it does not; but that’s just my opinion (*que Kermit the Frog drinking tea meme*).
4. Penguin Mocha
As far as I know, this coffee drink is the most unique to Dr. Jack’s beverage on this list. A regular mocha (coffee/espresso with chocolate) with chocolate syrup and white chocolate syrup—a work of genius! It is basically the perfect blend of chocolate and coffee; a lot of chocolate, but not too much.
5. Strawberries and Cream Frapjack
The Starbucks version of this drink is what lead me to love coffee shops in the first place. It is cream-based, without any coffee at all. From what I can tell, it is mainly strawberries, cream, and ice with a dollop of whipped cream. It seems so simple, like a smoothie, but it is so much more. They must add a special ingredient. It is amazing and truly life-changing. Strawberries are my favorite fruit and easily my favorite food. Oh, and “Frapjack” is the Dr. Jack’s equivalent to a Frappuccino.
If you need a pick-me-up, head on over to Dr. Jack’s and try one!
