My Top 5 Dream Travel Destinations

I guess the key word there is "dream" because it'll be years before I can afford even one of these trips.

My Top 5 Dream Travel Destinations

I’m sitting behind a desk at work, dreaming about all the beautiful places I have yet to experience in my short 19 years. What else is there to do other than watch Netflix when there are no people to be checked in? I'm also thinking about all the ways I can get there, including making money by sitting behind a desk at all hours of the night.

1. New York City

Basic, I know. But for years now I’ve dreamed about those city lights and the crowds of people and the magic of it all. Exploring the street art that's scattered across the city and going to a Broadway show is something I need to help feed my soul. Also I just really want to be able to caption a cheesy Instagram picture with the Taylor Swift lyrics, “Welcome to New York, it’s been waiting for you.” But who doesn’t, right?

2. Ireland

This one is another biggie. My Irish heritage runs deep in me and there’s something about rolling hills, perpetual rainstorms, castles, and narrow streets that just screams my name. I will be a full blown tourists taking pictures of everything I want to remember. From what I can tell the beauty of Ireland is not something that’s easily captured, but I’m going to try anyway.

3. Barcelona, Spain

But let’s be honest here, what girl growing up watching Disney Channel doesn’t want to live out their Cheetah Girl’s fantasies in Barcelona? I want to strut down the stairs at the Park Guell and be able to see the entire city from the top. I want to find a unique little bistro and order off of it using only my basic knowledge of Spanish that I learned from three years of high school classes. The architecture and Spain is beautiful and so different from the small town in New Hampshire that I grew up in, and I would love to be able to experience that.

4. Greece

I’m not sure where to be exact, all I know is that the culture, architecture, and amazing clear oceans have always drawn me in. It seems like the kind of place where you can get lost in the city one day and relax on the beach the next, and who doesn’t like a little diversity when they travel.

5. Paris, France

I’m a sucker for romance, and who hasn’t dreamed of kissing their significant other under the Eiffel Tower? Okay, I’m sure lots of people haven’t but I definitely have. Not to mention being able to see the (former) lock bridge, explore different bistros that will have some of the best food I will ever experience and just be engulfed by the city's culture. Paris just seems like such a romantic city and being able to travel there with someone I love would be the experience of a lifetime.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
