My Top 13 Favorite TV Shows

We all have a list like this: shows that made us laugh, cry and that we still re-watch. A bulk of my shows come from a friend or family recommendation and are binge-watched on Netflix. Without further ado, in no particular order, here are my top 13 shows that I have watched, am currently watching, and re-watching.

1. Gilmore Girls

A show I am currently watching and loving so far. Lorelai and Rory, a coffee loving mother-daughter duo, are wonderful to watch with their witty lines and crazy friends. Together they take on school, dating, and family drama always with grace, poise, and an extra cup of Luke's coffee.

2. The West Wing

Starring Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, and more great actors. This show dives into life in the White House with the president and his staff. A few episodes brought me to tears, but it's typically the right blend of drama and light, clever humor. This show will leave you feeling patriotic after every episode. It kept me invested from start to finish and I will always vote Bartlet for President!

3. Once Upon A Time

Now on season five, this show started off with amazing creative plots and twists of your favorite fairy tales and has only gotten better! Watch the fairy tale characters you know and love as they battle monsters and villains in the real world and their worlds. With places like Neverland, Arendale, and mostly recently Camelot, you'll be "hooked" in no time!

4. Parks and Recreation

This show LITERALLY has the best cast ever! Every character is funny, but everyone has their own unique style of humor that will have you laughing Every. Single. Episode. Watch Leslie Knope tackle the problems in the city government of Pawnee with her coworkers and side of waffles.

5. The Office

Also a documentary style sitcom I'm currently binge-watching on Netflix. The Office stars Michael Scott and his band of paper salesmen as they try to keep their company afloat. If you watch it for nothing else watch it for Pam and Jim - the absolute cutest couple on the planet!

6. X-Files

Another show I recently got into and it's not for the faint of heart. Follow FBI agents Mulder and Scully as they encounter monsters, aliens, and other freaky fiends all in the name of promoting the truth that a mysterious organization tries to hide. Watch for the partner chemistry, intriguing plots, and remember...the truth is out there.

7. Firefly

It's sci-fi. It's western. It's wonderful. I wish, like the rest of the fan base, that there was more than one season. Captain Mal Reynolds and his band of thieves travel outer space surviving the Alliance and Reavers. It never gets old to watch the different characters bond and it doesn't take long to realize there's no ship like Serenity.

8. Daredevil

It's everything you expect from a dark, classic superhero show: lots of action scenes, a personal struggle the hero has to face, dark pasts etc. But what made me love Daredevil was secondary characters and the show's villain, Wilson Fisk. Season one took time to go into his backstory and make him a fantastically well-developed character and even relatable to a certain extent. I loved watching his love life develop on screen with Vanessa, alongside his evil plan.

9. Psych

Shawn Spencer is by far my favorite fake-psychic detective. Along with his sidekick, Gus (or Magichead), they solve a variety of crimes for the Santa Barbara Police Department with a bit of dramatic flair while keeping Shawn's fake talent a secret. It's a funny, lighthearted comedy with a bit of romance and family bonding. I definitely teared up at the final episode.

10. Friends

You will never forget these six characters or their catchy theme song. Follow Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Monica, and Chandler as the navigate jobs, dating, and all the big life changes together. I laughed at all the inside jokes and funny moments. It's a sweet, light comedy about a group of friends that will always be there.

11. Agent Carter

Talk about a show that's great for some girl-power and butt-kicking action. Agent Carter is a spin-off of the Captain America movies starring Peggy Carter, agent of SSR, trying to make a name for herself in a male-dominated career as well as saving the world. Great characters and plot it's a show that really makes a name for itself in the Marvel universe.

12. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

This show I finished in one weekend. It's quirky, modern, and absolutely hilarious. It's a perfect show to binge-watch with your friends. It stars Kimmy Schmidt, a girl trying to make her way in today's world after being stuck in an underground cult for fifteen years. With colorful characters and memorable lines, this show made me laugh every episode. It's an unusual story of growing up and I can't wait for more!

13. Bones

Bones is a great crime show that has been around for a while but still delivers great plots and intriguing storylines. I love Temperance (Bones) Brennan, forensic anthropologist and her partner Seeley Booth, FBI agent, and their chemistry on screen. They solve gruesome crimes with their team of squints made up of amazing secondary characters and they always catch the bad guys. I'm on season ten and I haven't slowed down a bit!

I hope you enjoyed hearing a little bit about my favorite TV shows and take some time in the upcoming breaks to try some out!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
