Timeflies (aka Timeflies Tuesday) is one of my favorite groups of all time. I have been a fan since they started as "Timeflies Tuesday" posting covers/remixes/freestyles every Tuesday. Now they are going on tours all around the United States and world. You may know them for their hit songs such as "I Choose U", "All The Way", and "Once In A While". I've seen them many times in concert and they never fail to put on an amazing crazy show.

The two, Cal Shapiro (aka Cal on the left) and Rob Resnick (aka Res on the right), met while they attended Tufts University. They met at a party where Cal freestyled over Res' beatboxing. After that they started creating music together and started posting videos on YouTube. Cal freestyled over Res' beats that he produced. They took off from there and now, today, they have sold over 150,000 albums and 800,000 singles and have over 175 million YouTube video views and 261 million streams on Spotify worldwide. The group makes music in a combination of pop, hip-hop, electronic, and dance music. They are known for when they do make these freestyles/remixes Cal picks words on a piece of paper out of a hat right before he has to say them and then he has to incorporate them into the rap and he does it seamlessly.

So here is is: My Top 10 Timeflies Freesetyles/Remixes.

10. Cool Kids

First off with number 10 in Timeflies' cover of "Cool Kids" originally by Echosmith. I'm a big fan of Echosmith and I think they do a great job of covering it. Timeflies' version is progressive and has a massive sound. The second you start listening to the song you know it's going to be a big song. Every second of the song has you listening closely and just rocking out.

9. Doin' It Right

I love this song. It has you feeling good and just makes you happy. A take on Daft Punk's song "Doin' It Right". I actually like Timeflies' version better then the original. Once the chorus hits especially, all you feel is pure happiness. The synth has a beautiful sound to it and so does the beat. It's just one of those songs that makes you want to go out and be happy.

8. All About That Bass

I must admit I'm not a big fan of Meghan Trainor's music, however I guess I have to thank her for creating the song "All About That Bass" because Timeflies made an amazing cover to it, better then the original in my opinion. This is another song that makes you feel really good and happy and that is what Timeflies always seems to do. The chorus makes you want to jump and go crazy. The verses has a progressive feel to it and a chill upbeat sound and lyrics. No matter what, I guarantee you will feel good after listening to this song.

7. We Can't Stop

This used to be my favorite freestyle/remix that Timeflies has done. Which is why I know all of the lyrics to this song, but then again, I know almost all the lyrics to all of their songs. A remix of Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" and again, I think Timeflies' version is better. Cal seamlessly incorporates the words he is given into his freestyle while Res puts a big tune behind him. The beat is heavy and big with a catchy synth added on. This song will get you up and going crazy. When I went to one of their concerts they performed this song and the crowd went wild. Everyone jumping up and down and going crazy screaming singing along.

6. All You Need Is Love

This remix of The Beatles' "All You Need Is Love" is the perfect remix. Timeflies incorporates a beautiful guitar at the beginning of the song which sets up the song to just (like I have said a lot) make you feel good and feel love. The words Cal has to use in this song actually are from the heart candies people get for Valentines Day like "Hug Me" and "#Love". You really do feel the love in this song and in my opinion, Timeflies does the original song justice.

5. Let It Snow

This is definitely a song for all of you holiday people, especially around the winter holiday season. All of the words have to do with holidays during the winter and it is done what seems to be easily. The song incorporates and makes a perfect combination of classic sounds, like bells jingling, and modern day electronic music with a big sounding synth and beats. A perfect song for the person who loves the holidays and electronic songs.

4. Party In The U.S.A.

Another remix of one of Miley Cyrus' songs. Timeflies' version of "Party In The U.S.A.", in my opinion again, is better then the original. At another concert I went to, they performed this song and everyone in the crowd comes together and sings along. The first verse that Cal raps is creative, seamless, and uses the words in the best way. If I wasn't watching the video and knew he was freestyling, this song could easily be thought of an original song that has been worked on for a long time, lyrically and music wise.

3. Let It Go

This song is for all of you Disney lovers out there. This song is full of Disney references from Frozen to Peter Pan to The Lion King. The lyrics to this song all make sense and incorporate so many Disney references. Two of my favorite lines from the song is "I ain't never growing up that's why they call me Peter Pan" and "I could be Aladdin, you could be Jasmine and, you could be my whole new girl, I could show you through a whole new world". I think this song does a Disney fan far beyond justice and just gets you in the Disney mood.

2. Starving

I love this song. A remix of Hailee Steinfeld and Zedd's hit song "Starving". This song incorperates unique sounds such as the voices, synths, and beat. You could definitely listen to this song on repeat and not get bored of it. I blast this song on my recording studio speakers and just have a great time. The sounds in this song are addicting and the lyrics are seamlessly, as usual, put together. The more the song goes on, the more you want to hear.

1. Work From Home

Finally number 1! This song is definitely my favorite. Obviously, this is their take on Fifth Harmony's smash hit "Work From Home". Cal seamlessly incorporates the words and the music is crazy good. The song is upbeat, simplistic, and catchy. When the drop hits it just makes you want to loose control and go crazy. Cal has such an easy time in this song using the words to freestyle with and everything makes sense. The lyrics rhyme, their catchy, and all you want to do is hear more. When you put the two together, you get this crazy catchy song "Work From Home".

In all, I would really recommend checking out and listening to Timeflies. It was really hard to pick my top 10 because all of their music is amazing! Their music is unique, catchy, and will definitely make you feel good. Their concerts are crazy, fun, and you definitely will have a good time. Those are My Top 10 Timeflies Freestyles/Remixes. Hope you like them and thank you for reading!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
