With Halloween just around the corner, it is time to get your costume ready for either trick or treating with kids or getting ready for that Halloween party that your friend will be hosting. But, to get you in the mood for this spooky holiday, you should put these songs that always get me in a ghoulish spirit.

I present to you My Top 10 Halloween Songs

#10: Maroon 5 - Animals

Adam Levine and his bandmates sing about human acting like undomesticated animals. Even Levine himself acted like a stalker in the music video.

#9: Kanye West featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Over and Nicki Minaj - Monster

This crazy collaboration brings out the heavy hitters of hip-hop and an indie folk singer to create this savage song. It is so epic even Adele rapped Nicki's part in James Corden's Carpool Karaoke.

#8: Beyoncé - Haunted

Queen B was American Horror Story: Hotel before the show came up with that concept. The former Destiny's Child channels her dark and mysterious side with this "haunted" song.

#7: Rihanna - Disturbia

To start this list, I chose one of Rihanna's songs from Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded album. I love how crazy and wild this song gets and even the music video matches the mood of the song.

#6: Backstreet Boys - Everybody (Backstreet's Back)

They were "back" and better than ever before. For eye candy and 90s throwback, I recommend you jamming to this classic hit from AJ, Howie, Nick, Brian and Kevin.

#5: Hocus Pocus cover - I Put A Spell On You

Even though Screamin' Jay Hawkins orignally recorded this haunting song back in 1956, Bette Midler's rendition of this hit for the Hocus Pocus movie is one of my favorite Halloween tunes.

#4: Stevie Wonder - Superstition

Stevie brings both the supernatural and Motown in this song that will bring back the joy and the odd fears of people. Just make sure you do not break the mirror or let a cat cross your path.

#3: Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters Theme Song

Who are you going to call? Well, I do not know about you but I am going to call Mr. Parker Jr. and ask him to sing this song to me on October 31st.

#2: The Nightmare Before Christmas - This Is Halloween

Jack Skellington and company sings about the joys of Halloween in Tim Burton's epic Disney movie.

#1: Michael Jackson - Thriller

Nothing beats the King of Pop. From the album of the same name, this song makes me buy a red leather jacket and dance with my friends in the middle of the streets.

What are your favorite Halloween songs? Let me know and I'll add them to my spooky playlist this Halloween.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
