My A to Z Fashion Favorites

I have always been a lover of fashion. I love how you can express yourself in different ways using clothing. One day you can be natural and the next you can be dolled up, ready to go out. This spring and summer I have noticed a lot of trends. Here are my A to Z favorites.

A - ankle booties

Ankle booties are perfect for every season! In the spring and summer months I wear them with dresses and skirts to give off a boho vibe.

B - bomber jackets

Bomber jackets are also perfect season after season. They are especially perfect on cold summer nights. They give off a bad girl appearance and you get to stay warm! It's a win/win.

C - chokers

Chokers have been in style this summer and I really like this trend. They are easy to throw on and they dress up every outfit. My favorite chokers currently are western metal chokers.

D - double buckle belt

The western style is a must this summer and into the fall. I am really loving double buckle belts with skinny jeans and ankle booties.

E - eyelash lace

I love lace, especially eyelash lace. It gives off a vintage vibe and it is perfect for any occasion. I wear eyelash lace with black accessories to make it more tough and grunge.

F - fringe

Fringe is a staple piece in anyone's closet. It never goes out of style. I am currently loving fringe cropped jeans. They give off a boho vibe with still being grunge and wearable.

G - gingham

Gingham is a print that is very versitile. You can make it preppy or you can make it grunge. What I love about this print is that you can style it however you want.

H - halter

The halter neckline is very flattering and perfect for spring and fall. Yes, strapless bras are a must with this neckline but it is worth it. I love halter bralettes, jumpsuits, tops, dresses, etc.

I - intimates

Intimates such as bralettes are perfect for lounging around in the summer months. I love how easy it is to throw on a bralette and a flowy tank and run out the door.

J - jean skirt

Jean skirts are making a comeback in a big way. They are a perfect way to dress up a casual fabric. Pair the skirt with a plaid shirt and booties for the perfect casual summer/fall look.

K - knee high boots

Over the knee boots are a perfect way to dress up any casual look. I love to pair knee high boots with dresses or skirts to give off a boho vibe. Or even pair them with jeans and a simple tee for a casual look.

L - lace-up

The lace-up trend is turning simple items of clothing into glam/grunge pieces. I love slipping on a lace-up tank or tee and pairing it with ripped jeans for a casual ensemble that looks like I tried harder than I did.

M - mesh activewear

Mesh activewear is the perfect way to dress up an extremely casual look. If used to work out, the mesh fabric is very breathable and is stylish. This look is perfect for lounging around as well.

N - nylon handbags

Nylon handbags like the Longchamp Le Pliage Tote are perfect for traveling and school. It's an easy bag to throw everything in that you need and run out the door.

O - off-the-shoulder

Off-the-shoulder is my favorite trend of 2016. It flatters every body type and it the perfect way to show skin without showing too much. You can dress it up and down.

P - platform shoes

Platform shoes are the perfect way to add height and still look casual. They give off a boho/grunge vibe and it is perfect for summer. I especially love platform sandals.

Q - quarter strap sandals

These sandals look perfect on every body type. They are casual and can tie in perfectly with a casual look or dressy look.

R - ruffles

Ruffles are a great trend from this spring/summer. They give off a girly vibe without having to try hard. They are perfect on skirts, dresses, off-the-shoulder tops, etc.

S - suede

Suede is a fabric that most people think is only for fall. But this spring/summer we have realized that suede is perfect all year round. It gives off a western/boho vibe that is perfect for the summer months.

T - tassels

From shirts to shoes, tassles are a must this summer season. They give off a effortless boho vibe that is perfect for vacation or the beach. The more colorful the better.

U - urban graphic tees

Graphic tees are perfect for going on during the summer months. Pair them with back ripped moto jeans, back ankle booties, and a dark lip color. They give off the perfect grunge look.

V - velcro shoes

Velcro shoes are indeed making a comeback. They are easy to use and the straps are very falttering on all bodies. Style them with denim shirts, pants, and skirts for a casual look.

W - white crop tops

White crop tops are the perfect way to show a little skin and be cool in the summer heat. You can pair them with practically anything. Pair them with jean shorts for a boho look or pair them with a flannel for a more grunge style.

X - WHAT STARTS WITH AN X?

(I'll do another C) - culottes

Culottes, or as we knew them as a kid gouchos. They are making a comback and its perfect timing. These pants are airy and bagging in all the right ways. They are perfect for the summer months. Pair them with a simple tank for casual summer look that beats the heat.

Y - yoga wear

Yoga wear has been in style for a year or so but i am still loving it. Yoga wear incorporates workout gear with colorful prints that are fashionable and okay to wear out in public. I love wearing my yoga gear to run errands or even go to class.

Z - (exposed) zippers

Finally, exposed zippers are a great way to dress up any simple skirt or dress. They give off a grunge look that is perfect for going out.

Some of these trends I rock on a daily basis but some are ones I haven't tried yet. Get out of your comfort zone and try some of these A to Z spring/summer fashion trends with me.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
