Maze Runner: The Death Cure is one of those movies that puts me on the edge of my seat. Whenever a movie does this to me, I get really into focus on what is happening. I listen to what the characters have to say, I cringe like I had felt the pain of a character who got punched in the face and I could feel my heart quicken as everything intensified. This is exactly how I felt throughout this movie, however, I felt like I was emotionally stabbed in the heart when it was over.

Before I explain the emotional parts, I was shocked that Gally is alive as he makes an appearance in The Death Cure. Minho pierced Gally with a spear in the first Maze Runner movie, which makes it look like he was killed. But he is not dead and he comes face-to-face with Thomas, Newt and the others to save Minho in the Lost City.

When I mean "emotionally stabbed in the heart," I mean it when I talk about Newt. Newt caught The Flare, a virus that turns victims into cranks. He got angry at Thomas because Thomas wants to rescue Teresa and he completely lost his cool. Newt realizes it and tells Thomas that he caught The Flare. Soon, Newt turns into a crank and he tries to attack Thomas. Newt begs Thomas to kill him but he couldn't do it. Newt takes out a knife and was close to stabbing Thomas but sadly, Newt stabs himself in the chest and dies. To me, this was the saddest part out of the ENTIRE movie and I was sobbing like a child who dropped their ice cream cone.

However in The Death Cure by James Dashner, Newt's death was different. Newt begged Thomas to shoot him with a gun and Thomas didn't want to. Thomas knew that it was Newt's last wish, so he pulled the trigger and shot Newt in the head which killed him instantly. Newt didn't want to lose his sanity by eating people and Thomas felt awful about what he had to do because Newt is one of his great friends.

There's also some good news! Janson got what is coming to him! He was eaten by two Cranks (zombies) that were kept in a lab, behind a glass window. Thomas throws something at the glass and Janson thought he was aiming at him and says "you miss" but Thomas responds "No, I didn't" leading to Janson get attacked by the Cranks.

Then again there is more sad news, Teresa dies saving Thomas. Thomas was shot by Janson and at first, Thomas and Teresa had nowhere to go because the place they were at was surrounded by fire. They did share a kiss with each other, thinking that they are both going to die but then a ship comes by to save them. Thomas survived but Teresa dies as the building she was standing on, collapsed.

Near the end, Thomas is in a safe place with Minho and other survivors. Newt gave Thomas letters before he died and it was absolutely heartbreaking as he reads them. "Every maze has an end" wow, you don't say? This movie has put me into an emotional state of mind. It was devastating but I loved it at the same time. There were some parts that didn't relate to the book but to me, though it's definitely still worth watching. I will forever miss Newt and Thomas's friendship.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
