My Thoughts On Doctor Strange

My Thoughts On Doctor Strange

So this article is going to contain a little bit of spoilers, so I really wouldn’t read this until you have watched the movie. Also, I am a huge movie buff, Marvel fan, and a lover of all things nerdy. So this article also might come off as a little biased, but I absolutely loved Doctor Strange. I was a little skeptical, because I definitely prefer Captain America and Thor, but the movie was super great.

I’ll start off by saying no Marvel movie has ever disappointed me. They were all well written, followed the comics closer than I would expect, well directed, well casted, and definitely could tell they were well produced. You can see the time and dedication Marvel has for their movies, and I think that is absolutely wonderful. I knew the movie itself would be wonderful, but I didn’t think the storyline behind it would interest me at all. I try my hardest to keep up with the comics, and I didn’t really get into the Doctor Strange comics. Though I did go into the theatre knowing a bit about the movie.

Benedict Cumberbatch was perfect as the role of Stephen Strange. His character is so awful that you want to hate him, but because he is uneducated, it made it hard for me. Strange was the type of person who thought he was smart because he went by the books and used his brain, but when it came to spiritual and otherworldly things, he shied away from it. He laughed it off at first, but came to his senses. He never wanted the awesome power that he was so natural with, and he handled it rather well.

As the movie went on I really loved his character. He was so complex, and not just a super good guy like Captain America. We all love Steve Rogers because he has always been good, and always will be. But Stephen Strange has a personality which can be annoying, and throughout the film I grew to love him.

The way Doctor Strange handled the villain in this movie was pretty funny, and I thought he was able to face it extremely well. He handled it with wit, and bravery, which is what Marvel heroes are about at the end of the day. Like any Marvel movie, you have to stay past the credits to watch a bit into upcoming movies. I won’t say too much, but I really loved it. They brought in my second favorite Avenger, and I am even more excited for one of the upcoming Marvel movies. And then after that scene was another, which really shocked me! Of course like any Marvel fan, you have to stay until the Security Guard basically kicks you out. So the very last scene was intense, and set up the scene for a second Doctor Strange, which makes me excited. I know Infinity Wars is going to be the last movie with all of the current Avengers, which makes me extremely sad. But I am really excited to see what Marvel is going to do with it afterwards.

Overall I would watch this movie a hundred times and still enjoy it. It was an action packed movie with comedic relief, and great acting. The storyline was awesome, and it made me want to watch Marvel movies all day long. This is just my opinion over the movie, and I know not everyone will feel the same way. But at the end of the day, most of us are Marvel fans, and we stick together.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
