It’s kind of a crazy thought, that after this semester I’ll be halfway through with college. Time really does fly by and college seems to be going by all too quick. Nonetheless, I’m excited with how much I’ve learned since beginning at Becker College and from here on out is where I get to really delve deeper into my major, which I’m totally ecstatic about.
Going into my second semester in my second year of college is something I’m actually really looking forward to because of the six courses I’m taking next semester, five of which revolve around game design, my major. Typically I don’t take six courses because taking six different courses in a semester is a lot of work, however, I’ve felt that in the past I’ve had too much free time, which although is nice, I feel has made me a less productive student, often prone to more procrastination and doing the bare minimum. Perhaps it sounds odd, however, I believe that filling up my schedule and potentially being busier than I’ve ever been before could actually help me produce better work and encourage me to put in more of an effort towards my studies.
Contrary to maybe a popular belief about myself, I’m somebody who likes to be organized. However, although I’m more often than not, never organized, I can’t blame people for doubting my sincerity here. Nonetheless, when it came to making my schedule for next semester, I wanted to ensure that my classes were well spread out throughout the week and I wanted to have at least a single day off during the week to act as a sort of break or catchup day of sorts. Fortunately, everything worked out as I had hoped and my Tuesday's are completely free.
Having gotten to the point where I’m through taking the majority of my core classes, I’m really looking forward to this upcoming semester where I’ll be learning more in the next three months than I’ve arguably ever before learned over the course of three months. I’ve truthfully never felt so excited about going into a semester as I do this time around and I have my fingers crossed that the it’ll be as good as I’m anticipating.
