UAH's chapter of AOII just had our Big/Little Reveal Week, and I finally got to know who my Big is! I can't wait to share some amazing memories with my person. However, everyone that has ever been a Little knows how stressful this time can be as you are given gifts and left to wonder who exactly is behind them. Here are a few of my thoughts from this week.
1. "THAT IS SO CUTE!"
This one was an every day occurrence as I loved everything my amazing Big gave me.
This is just one of the days! A t-shirt, two canvases, and a sweet note!
2. "How does she know me so well?!"
She clearly was told about my love of glitter and always got me things that fit my personality incredibly well. I still have yet to figure out this sorcery as we had not spoken once.
3. "Do these notes have the same handwriting?"
Thanks to my forensics class in high school, I knew how to analyze handwriting fairly well and was looking at things from the shape of the loops to the little extra bits. This, of course, did not help me at all because I didn't have anybody's handwriting to compare it to!
4. "GLITTER!!!"
There was lots of glitter involved in this week and I loved every bit of it. My soul is made of glitter, I think.
AOII Letters. All of them are lavender and covered with glitter!
5. "Where should this go?"
Between the canvases and the AOII letters (pictured above) I was going crazy trying to find the perfect spot in my room for everything. I want to show it all off just right!
6. "Who is it?!"
All I wanted the whole week was to know who it was. I soaked in any little detail I could and started trying to narrow it down. The only problem was that I had class and meetings and I had to pretend like I was calm and had my life together on the outside. On the inside, however, I was going absolutely insane! I loved having a week dedicated to this special moment, though, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
7. "IT IS REVEAL DAY I CAN'T KEEP CALM!"
Having class on Reveal Day sucks. Nobody outside of your organization cares, or probably knows. They're getting on with their day as though your life isn't about to change forever. You have to try to keep it together during that long lecture and that class where everybody is giving speeches and try to make it until time for reveal, which is impossible honestly.
8. "I love you, Big."
Can I just brag for a minute, guys? I got the best Big there is (even if I'm older! and I already love her so much. I know this will be one of the best and most important friendships I will ever have and I am so very thankful to AOII for introducing me to my Big.
Thanks for being the best, Alayna.
