To the drink that has always "bean" there for me.

A Thank You Letter To Coffee

Dear Coffee,

At this point we know each other pretty well. For the past 10 years (and probably longer) we have been an integral part of each other’s lives. I figured that since you have done so much to help me throughout the years, it's probably time I do something nice for you. So I decided to write you this letter that will hopefully convey just how crucial you have been in my life.

Thank you, first and foremost, for being delicious. Whether you’re poured over ice, blended, or just mixed with a little cream, you have always made my taste buds perform a tiny happy dance of their own.

Thank you for making early morning classes somewhat bearable. You have helped clear away the sleep from my brain as I try to memorize the digestive system of a ruminant (though sometimes I just need you to help me keep my eyes open).

Thank you for bringing my friends and I together on countless occasions.

Thank you for keeping me company during those late night cram sessions.

Thank you for making first dates less awkward.

Thank you for making interviews less terrifying.

Thank you curling up with me as I binge watch “Stranger Things.” And "Parks and Rec." And "The Office."

Thank you for sitting on that shelf at work and waiting for me to run to you in between appointments. Sometimes you are absolutely essential in getting me through the day.

Thank you for being my partner as I enjoy those rainy days by playing Pandora and scrolling through Pinterest.

Thank you for giving me a reason to buy all of the cute mugs.

Thank you for making those tough days better.

Thank you for warming me up during those infamous Minnesota winters when nothing else seems to do the trick.

Thank you for being a simple treat I can surprise my friends with.

Thank you for always giving me a seasonal drink to look forward to. Your pumpkin lattes and peppermint mochas get me even more excited for the new seasons.

Thank you for being a constant in my ever-changing life.

Thank you for filling my home with your delicious aroma.

Thank you for sitting in my lap during those bumpy bus rides that brought me to and from class. Not once did you spill a drop, not even when my bus got T-boned by an SUV (true story)!

Thank you for being my date in all of those coffee shops during my marathon study sessions.

Thank you for being by my side at this very moment and acting as my inspiration as I write this article.

I know I'm forgetting things. You have probably accompanied me to more big life events and witnessed more small, wonderful moments than any person I know. I am sure it’s the addiction talking, but I honestly feel happier with a cup of you in my hand. May you continue to fill my mugs, thermoses, and heart for years to come.

Sincerely,

A Coffee Lover

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
