As most people know ink is becoming more and more accepted. Though that is true there are still people who feel as though tattoos shouldn't be a thing. Recently I was told that tattoos are viewed as trendy in my generation and that my decision to get tattoos at my age wouldn't be supported because “in 20 years you'll look back on your mistakes and regret them.” Wrong. This opinion couldn't be more wrong.
I have five tattoos currently and I have thought about every single one for months on end. I have tattoos to remind me of times in my life. Two of my tattoos are for my grandparents I lost within two years of each other. The other three are things I hold close to my heart. I for one find tattoos to be beautiful and an expression of someone's life and journey. But even if people get tattoos of things they just find beautiful and want to use to decorate their body, how does that give anyone a right to say it's just a trend? I've seen plenty of trends come and go just in my high school years and I for one do not think this art form that's been around for thousands of years is considered one.
