I know you have been stressed out lately and who can blame you? I remember when I graduated high school. I was so excited to see what college would be like, but also I was nervous to end something that had been my world ever since I could remember.

You feel lost when it's all over, but deep down you know it's time to move on. It's hard to imagine being comfortable anywhere else and you wish time would move just a little slower.

Change is never easy but I can promise you, this change is good.

You might not feel ready or you might not feel old enough yet to start living on your own, but through my eyes, I can see you are. You have always been too mature for your age and I'm happy to finally see you moving forward and away from the restrictions and drama of high school. You were always above it all.

Because you worked so incredibly hard, you got into the same college I attend. Chirp Chirp! And I can't explain how excited I am to share this experience with you, because I know this is where you will truly find yourself.

You're going to love meeting all the people in your dorm, exploring campus, and learning and creating fashion like you've always wanted.

I can't wait for all the memories we're about to make. The sleepovers, the tailgates, the studying…okay, maybe not the last one. But I just know we're going to become so much closer and that makes me really happy.

Not many people get to say they are this close to their sisters, so I am blessed to say my sisters are my best friends. I know you have a lot of reasons you wanted to go to Ball State University, but knowing I was one of them means everything to me.

If you ever have any questions or if you feel like life is weighing on you too heavy, I'm just a short walk away. You have a huge family that loves you and it's a quick 3-hour drive if you're ever missing home. And you know mom and dad would look for any excuse to come visit.

I know it might be scary and you feel like you're leaving your old life completely behind, but trust me, it is not going anywhere. You can always go back and see anyone or go anywhere you miss.

Your old life isn't gone forever. You can go back anytime you want, you'll just return as a better you.

You are driven. You are fearless. And most of all, you are a dreamer. And of all the things I could hope for you to be, it is that. Never give up hope and never stop reaching for the top because if anyone can get there, it is you.

The world is yours and it should brace itself.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
