A sister is someone who can guide you in the right direction, pick you up when you’re down, always put a smile on your face, and protect you no matter what. My sister goes above and beyond for me every day. She is my role model and my hero. She is one of a kind, and I was blessed to have such an amazing older sister to look up to.
My sister is the type of person who works so hard every day no matter what. What do I mean by that? Not many people can say that they made the Deans list multiple times while in nursing school. She will be a graduating nursing student a month from now, and I cannot begin to explain how proud I am of her. She will be working with children, and putting a smile on their faces every day. She deserves nothing but happiness and success in this world.
Say that you made a list of a couple things that you needed from the store, but was busy that day so you were planning on getting those things later that night? No problem. Without even asking her to go and spend her own money to pay for the things that I needed, it would be out on my bed as I walked into my room an hour later. Say you needed costumes for spirit week but had nothing to wear? She would pull out her box of clothes in her room and take care of it that night. What about taking you to your hair appointment the day of prom? What about packing your clothes with you as you head off to spring break or even drive an hour at 2 a.m. to take you to the hospital and lose your sleep that night just to take care of me? Those are just a few of the many selfless acts my sister does for me all the time.
Despite the money and her generosity, she is always there to help. Days that I couldn’t go to sleep because I had so much homework, she would be there to help take the load off. Even if she didn’t know the material I was working on, she would do her research just to make sure I could go to sleep that night knowing my work was completed. If I was unorganized, she would run to the store and buy me a big calendar to put on my desk so I could stay organized and stay on top of things. My sister is one of the smartest, most beautiful people I know. At only 21, she is well-rounded and has a successful future ahead of her.
Not only does she take care of me as her little sister, she takes care of the rest of the family. She is always going out of her way to help my mother whether it is an extra load of laundry, or picking up my little brother from school. Safe to say, I’ve grown up having another mother figure in my life who is my sister.
No matter how many arguments we get in, we always go to bed telling each other how much we love one another. Every night I go to bed thinking how I wish I could thank my sister and give her the world, because she deserves it. Although words in this short article can’t quite express my gratitude for my amazing sister, I hope that she gets the idea that she is my role model, my hero.
