Everyone has heard the saying, "sister by chance, best friend by choice" and nothing describes my relationship with my sister better. Sammi is twenty-four years old, which is a little over four years older than I am. Growing up, you could see that would cause a few problems. By this, I mean that there was a period of time where I was that annoying little sister who craved the attention of my sister and her friends. But for the most part, my sister and I got along a good ninety percent of the time.

My mom used to always say that my sister and I would one day be best friends and each other's greatest ally and she could not have been more right. A big part of that I do give credit to my mom for, she made sure our family showed each other the utmost respect and love. Now, my sister is definitely my best friend and one of my biggest fans.

My post this week goes out to Sammi because I couldn't be more grateful for all she has done for me. The first thing she should know coming into this weekend is: get ready. I have planned such a fun weekend for us and I cannot wait to share my home-away-from-home with her. But, I really want to take this opportunity to display how much the relationship I have with my sister means to me.

For those of you who have a sibling, understand that they are like your secret weapon. Nobody is going to fight for you as your sibling will. Not only has Sammi fought for me, but she has fought beside me. That is something I cherish because although there is a decent age difference between us, I wanted to feel like my sister was my partner in crime rather than someone who simply solved my problems for me.

Another thing I will forever be grateful for is the fact that my sister spoils me. Not just with material items (which she does spoil me with because she is one of the most generous people I have ever met) but with love, laughs, and most importantly, no judgment. Whenever I need just about anything, my sister is the first person I want to call or see. If I had a terrible day, I can call my sister and manage to forget why my day was so bad in the first place. Her energy and positivity can light up an entire room.

However, just like any other person, she has her bad days as well. Being a working nurse is a lot to handle sometimes, not to mention all of the other responsibilities she has. That is what sisters are for though, that's when I come in and be the sister that she needs. Sometimes, all we need is someone to listen.

I cannot wait for my sister to get here, counting down the hours at this point!

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
