13 Reasons Sisters Make The Best Friends

I have had countless friends throughout the years, some of whom are still in my life and some who have faded away. But one of my friends has stood out from all the rest. She has always been there to pick me up when I am down and she is the one person in my life that I am closest too. She's my other half, my best friend. She's my sister.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a sister but for those who are, I hope you are as close to yours as I am to mine. A sister is a gift for life and here are 13 reasons why:

1. She never judges.

No matter how drunk you may get or what shameless things you do, she will always look at you the same.

2. She will always take your side no matter what.

Whether it's regarding family drama, friend drama or work drama, she's always going to side with you.

3. You don't like someone, she doesn't like them either.

She doesn't even have to know the person. If you don't like them, then she hates them too.

4. She will listen to me ramble on the phone for hours.

She is the one person who will let you talk for hours because she knows that as long as you are still talking, you still need someone to listen.

5. She is the first person you call when you receive big news.

Every time something exciting happens your first instinct is to call her because you know her happiness for you and your success will always be genuine.

6. She is the one person you can talk to about family drama.

Not only does she understand what you are going through better than anyone else but she will also be able to give you best advice on how to handle it. Plus, she will always be on your side when the drama hits.

7. She will always be completely honest with you. Even if the truth is not what you want to hear.

Whether it's telling you that your fashion sense is a little wack or that you are wrong in a situation, she will always make sure you know the truth.

8. You can steal her clothes and she will still love you.

She may not like you but she will definitely never stop loving you.

9. She can't stay mad at you forever.

Especially when you live together.

10. It doesn't matter how many miles are between you, the sound of her voice makes her feel close enough to touch.

Distance will never impact how close you stay to each other.

11. She accepts you for who you are.

The weird quirks and all.

12. She has seen you grow over the years and has accepted you in every stage you have gone through.

Even the bitchy teenage one.

13. Her love is genuine and unconditional.

No matter what, at the end of each day she will still love you more than any other friend could. She will always be your person.

I love you, sis.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
