My Rights Are My Rights, and They Are Irrevocable

Those who remain steadfastly faithful to the true American way are those that see the truth

At this point, everyone is well aware of the travesty that occurred on November 8th, 2016.

Everyone should also by now be aware of the equally-upsetting travesty that occurred on January 20th, 2016.

The travesty I am referring to is, of course, the absurd election of Donald J. Trump, and his equally-absurd inauguration.

On election night, when I saw the projected results flash across the screen on CNN for the first time, I broke down and cried, alone, just as millions of Americans did across the country. It was something that should never have happened. It was something the Founding Fathers would be absolutely ASHAMED to see. It was something that rocked my faith, momentarily, for America to the core. However, I bounced back.

Nonetheless, I have people every day telling me "Trump is your president," "get over it," "deal with it, he's your president whether you like it or not," etc. And while legally he has fulfilled the necessary requirements to assume the office of the President, he has not earned the respect from me to be addressed as such.

The same people who tell me to "get over it" are the same ones who tell me I'm un-American for not addressing and respecting him as POTUS. The irony of these blind followers of the Right is that they are the same people who disrespected President Barack Obama for eight full years. But now all of a sudden we're all supposed to just bow down at Trump's feet and kiss his ass? I DON'T THINK SO.

For those of you that forgot how President Obama was treated after his first and second elections, here's a visual:

While I respect the office of the President of the United States, I have absolutely no respect for the dim-witted, pompous, narcissistic asshat that currently calls the Oval Office his. The greatest part about this country is that, regardless of what the pro-Trumpers say to the contrary, I have every right to say what I please about the disgusting little man-baby in office. I am not required by law to address him as president, and I won't. I have no obligation to respect him in any capacity whatsoever, and I shan't. I am not obliged to agree with a single one of his divisive, destructive, corruptive, and bigoted policies and pieces of rhetoric, and I refuse to do so.

In fact, I fully intend to do just the opposite: he will be addressed by me as the F*ck-Wit-In-Chief (even if I meet the deplorable man in person). If I am, somehow, able to meet the deplorable individual while he is still in office, he will get an ear full of what I have on my mind about him and his ignorance. I will challenge his corruption and political schemes to line his own pockets, and I will demand that he be held accountable for every single one of his misdeeds.

In short, I will whole-heartedly and vehemently oppose the insanely mentally-unstable tyrant that currently calls himself "president."

There is a portion of the United States Constitution called the "First Amendment," which quite plainly and clearly gives each American citizen the right to freedom of/from religion, the right to assemble in protest, the right to petition, the right to the freedom of the press, and the right to freedom of speech. No one, I repeat, NO ONE, has the power to revoke these rights, or any other rights held within the Bill of Rights or Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. There are only two ways in which these rights can be revoked. First, if two-thirds of both bicameral chambers of the United States Congress proposes an amendment to counteract a previous amendment. Secondly, if two-thirds of all fifty United States calls for a Constitutional Convention for the purpose of proposing an amendment to counteract a previous amendment.

Neither scenario will happen, especially when it comes to the First Amendment (it is the "first" amendment for a reason.) Therefore, these rights are my rights, they are your rights, they are every American citizens' rights, and they are IRREVOCABLE.

My issue is not just with Donald Trump, or even just with the Republican establishment politicians. My issues also lie with Democratic "leaders" within our federal government. The ones who lied down for Trump to walk all over. The ones who voted in his ATROCIOUS cabinet nominees. The ones who swear they are in power to protect us and to work for the progress of this nation and her people, yet did the exact opposite during every single Senate confirmation hearings for the Trump cabinet picks.

Today, I say to them all: in 2018, We the People will clean house! We the People will remember who allowed Trump to steamroll over them. We will remember those who FAILED the American people by not standing up to the corrupt individuals that they voted into the cabinet of the Executive Branch of the United States of America. We the People will remember who was morally bankrupt enough to allow such devastating individuals to assume the highest offices in our federal government.

We the People will not forget how the Democratic leaders in Congress seemingly forgot the outcry of the literal millions of people who voted against this deplorable regime, and indeed, though the popular vote of the presidential election does not determine who is president, it does however represent what each individual person wished to occur in terms of the results of the election. The simple fact of the matter is that more registered American voters voted in DIRECT OPPOSITION to Donald Trump; the electoral college is old and outdated and it needs to go (but that is the topic of discussion for a later article.)

With all of this in mind, I now want to pose a few questions.

Does this administration seem as if it is willing to work hard for the American people? Particularly, does the Trump regime seem as if it will be the "champion of the middle- and working-class Americans"? Does Trump seem to genuinely care for you and your rights to healthcare, considering he has promised to "repeal and replace" the Affordable Care Act (and has already issued executive orders that gut provisions of President Obama's legacy) leaving literally millions of working-class Americans without health insurance? Does he seem to be a "president for all Americans" as he promised to be the night of the election? Does it seem as if he is going to faithfully and dutifully uphold the principles set forth within the United States Constitution, considering the fact that he has already made a regime-wide move against the free media and against those that openly oppose his drastic and devastating policy proposals?

The answer is a resounding "NO," and to be quite honest, if you still think he is going to be a great president, after everything he has already done to undermine the American ideal in the week or so he's been in office, then I'm sorry to say it, but there is little to no way to help you see the light; you're just blinded by the vile propaganda being perpetuated by the political right-wing elites who now control our once-proud nation.

As of November 8th, 2017, the entire rest of the world has turned their back on America, and they are laughing at us, not with us.

So many people have said to me "Well, it's been nice living in America, it's about to be history now."

This is folly.

America will never fall and America will never fail, so long as those who remain steadfastly faithful to the true, unwavering principles and ideals of America continue to fight the monstrosity who calls himself our 45th President of the United States of America. Those that believe that we are a country who was already great before Donald Trump opened his pious mouth will be the ones to inherit the bulk of the destruction left behind by Trump's horrific policy practices. We will be the ones to rebuild the faith America has lost in her democratic systems as a result of the rhetoric spewing from the toxic mouths of the Trump administration, we will be the ones to repair the resolve of Americans across the nation, for so many have all but given up on America.

The time is nigh to open your mouths, let your voices be heard, and make a difference in this ever-changing, volatile political climate. Remember that those in power derive that power from We the People, and if We the People refuse to bestow that power to them, they are powerless.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
