A Thank You To My Friends

I have the best friends and I feel lucky to have them

A Thank You To My Friends
Huffington Post

When I think of television show theme songs that deal with friends, two shows come to my mind almost instantaneously: "Friends" and "The Golden Girls." I decided to take a look at these lyrics and analyze them. After taking a deep look at the lyrics, I realized that most of them apply to my relationships with my friends. After all, the Golden Girls theme starts off with “Thank you for being a friend, traveled down the road and back again … You’re a pal and a confidant.” The Friends theme song starting with “I’ll be there for you … cause you’re there for me too.”

These songs describe my relationship with most of if not all of my friends. I feel that with a high amount of my friends, I am thankful that I have them as a friend and that they have journeyed with me throughout life and have remained at my side for the length of time that I have known them. However, they have not only been at my side for the time that I have known them but also are people that I enjoy spending time with. Yet above all my friends are some of my closest confidants which are much needed in life especially tight-lipped confidants. The people that I tell things to or confide in, I chose closely and if you betray that trust, you might not get a second chance.

The chorus of the Friends theme song is “I’ll be there for you … cause you’re there for me too.” This makes me realize how lucky I am to have those said friends that are there for me, no matter what just as I am there for them. My friends and I bond over the weirdest things and things that we have in common or we both like at times. It may be how much they dislike their high school basketball coach, a passion for the same sports teams that somehow seem to disappoint their fans every season, a professor going way too fast in a lecture series and then doesn’t post the slides on Blackboard, debating our ability as to who would win a game of Madden, which one in our friend group is the Alpha versus the Omega or even the Beta, our dislike for our professor and /or the class we are in and finally our love for music and musicians that we share like Jon Bon Jovi, and so much more.

I feel so thankful to have friends that I can count on no matter what. I hope that my friends know the same: that I will always be there for them, no matter when it is. I want to thank my friends for being my friend and tell them I’ll be there for them as they are there for me to.

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Barn Pros

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.
