As someone who was late to jump onto the Gilmore Girls fan train, I had high expectations for the new 4 episode sequel to the show. I started watching Gilmore Girls in 2014 and finished it by 2015. I loved the comradery between Rory and Lorelai and was constantly entertained by the antics of the citizens of Stars Hollow. This article will contain spoilers for those of you who haven't seen the series so be prepared.

When I heard that there was going to be a 4 episode sequel, I was ecstatic. Gilmore Girls ended with a promising future for all of the characters, especially Lorelai and Luke. I expected the first episode to open with a married Lorelai and Luke living in Stars Hollow and having some sorted of integrated Dragonfly Inn/ Luke's Diner type business. However, I was satisfied with Luke and Lorelai at least having some sort of future that ultimately ended up with them getting married. The Dragonfly Inn, however, was a disappointment and seemed to be on a downward spiral. Lorelai's character was also a disappointment, seeming much whinier and self-involved than I remembered her as in the original series. The series even seemed to touch on how her character seemed to be incredibly selfish in one of her fights with Luke.

I also was extremely disappointed with Rory's character in general. Rory was an extremely motivated girl who went to an Ivy League school and was incredibly successful. It seems extremely odd to me that she would be jobless and just kind of floating around the world at the beck and call of an engaged man. This brings me to the most disturbing part of the revival: her "relationship" with Logan Huntzberger. Rory and Logan's relationship always seemed like a stepping stone to me, with him seeming to immature and entitled to ever be a good partner for Rory. However, this idea that Logan was cheating with Rory on his fiance seemed to be so unrealistic that it had me rolling my eyes every time that they had a scene together. I mean, Logan tried to give her a house, which clearly shows that he hasn't grown up since we last saw him in Gilmore Girls.

The only characters that seemed to be anything remotely close to my expectations were Kurt and Taylor. Kurt was up to his normal antics, having a pet pig and making weird short films. Taylor is still running around town worrying about bringing tourists to Stars Hollow and ruling over the citizens.

Overall, Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life was not at all what I expected and was a disappointment to me. These 4 episodes turned a series that I loved into a strange and unrelatable show that I could barely stomach to watch. The only reason that I finished the series was because I needed to hear the last 4 words, which were also extremely disappointing. To me, the point of the original Gilmore Girls was that Rory learned from Lorelai's mistakes and became an independent and strong female who could have a better life for herself. However, she ends up jobless, pregnant and pretty unmotivated to better herself.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
