So, today is FINALLY Election Day.
I don’t know about y’all, but I am so happy about this! I cannot wait for politics to not be the main topic of conversation everywhere I go. I cannot wait for people to stop arguing over politics. I cannot wait for people to stop being such assholes over whatever political views they have. I cannot wait for people to stop sharing political bullshit on Facebook.
This election has been an absolute joke and a disaster!
I know this all won’t stop once we have a new president either. I have never seen so much trash talking and hatred than I have during this election season. I wish we could go back in time to when it was considered rude to ask people who they voted for or what their political views were!
Now don’t get me wrong, I think it is great that we all want to be involved, especially people my age. Because we, as millennials, tend to get a bad name. Millennials are believed to not care about anything but ourselves and not contribute a damn thing to society, but my Facebook newsfeed would suggest otherwise. I have seen more people my age on Facebook really talking politics and discussing some of the big issues that are on the table this election season than ever before. I am also not saying they are all good posts or that they are backed with good hard facts. Nonetheless, most of them were good and stuck to their guns on what they believed in..And that is great!
With all that being said… I have noticed that, no matter what age group, that nobody can handle or respect other people’s opinions. IF YOU MUST talk politics on social media then be prepared for someone to comment with a different opinion and point of view. If you can’t handle it and or respect it then don’t make a post and KEEP YOUR DAMN OPINIONS TO YOURSELF!
That’s all I have to say on politics because, well, I’m so sick of talking and hearing about it. Now someone pass me a bottle of wine to get me through the rest of this week.
