Okay. So I, along with many other people, am obsessed with RuPaul's Drag Race. I have absolutely no idea what makes it so appealing or so addicting, but I am completely hooked. Maybe it's the over the top, downright fabulous outfits or the bitchy, unrelenting colloquialisms. Or maybe it's just seeing Mama Ru in all her glory every week that keeps me coming back for more. Either way, for the past seven seasons, Ru and her queens have been serving captivating realness. Here is, in my opinion, the ranking of the past winners in honor of DragCon 2k16, happening this week in Los Angeles. Please forgive me. I watch way too much tv.
7. Tyra Sanchez
Winner of season 2. It should have been Raven.
6. BeBe Zahara Benet
Winner of season 1. To be honest, first season wasn't my favorite. But BeBe did make it a little tolerable and being the first of America's Next Drag Superstars does count for something.
5. Jinkz Monsoon
Winner of season 5. Oh, Jinkz. Her win came out of nowhere for me and I was very pleasantly surprised. Beating Rolaskatox was no easy feat. Plus, I'll always appreciate a queen with a spot-on impression of Little Edie.
4. Sharon Needles
Winner of season 4. Okay, so Chad Michaels was my favorite throughout season but Sharon was a very close second. There is just something so cool about her off- kilter take on drag that makes me so fun to watch. And being crowned while wearing a planchette headpiece? Game changer.
3. Violet Chacki
Winner of season 7. Insanely, inhumanly gorgeous. Hilarious. Overall hyper-talented. YesViolet (Also someone please talk to me about Pearl. Queen of my Life.)
2. Bianca del Rio
Winner of season 6. Easily one of the funniest contestants to ever grace the main stage, she is the most perfect definition of a comedy queen that can do it all.
1. Raja
Winner of season 3. Raja is everything. Did you know she was also the head makeup artist for nine seasons of America's Next Top Model? She is insanely talented and gorgeous and can do just about anything. I love Raja.
Bonus: Chad Michaels, Winner of Drag Race All Stars.
Chad will always my be Queen of Queens. She earned every bit of her all star title, twice over.
Only three queens are left in the current season of Drag Race. Out of the three (Kim Chi, Bob the Drag Queen, and Naomi Smalls), I honestly cannot say that I have a clear cut favorite. Ru has a hard decision to make. But like always, I am sure she will employ her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent and make the proper choice.
