I've always been a dog-person. And as is the case with almost every other dog-person, I don't discriminate amongst dog breeds: I love all furry friends.
However, it has come to my attention that one breed is preposterously paramount: pugs.
With their small size and abundant (and lovable) chunkiness, they are furry bundles of joy and love. Pugs are a very social breed, making them the perfect companion. They crave attention and are playful in nature. Everything about them is so lovable--no one can say no to pugs.

Just look at them!
Pugs also have historical significance. In the 16th century, Pompey the pug saved his owner, Prince William of Orange of the Netherlands, from Spanish assassins. After this display of loyalty, pugs became the official breed of the House of Orange. In 1790, Napoleon Bonaparte's wife supposedly hid messages under her pet pug's collar to communicate with family during her imprisonment at Les Carmes prison. The pug was the only allowed visitor during this time.
Additional famous pug owners include Winston Churchill, George Clooney, Gerald Butler, Jessica Alba, and Queen Victoria of England.
Pugs are so lovable and they're truly a breed for royalty--join the pug club.
