My Personal Critique of The Golden Globes Fashion

My Personal Critique of The Golden Globes Fashion

Year after year, the only reason I tune into Hollywood award shows is for the pre-game on E! News of all the celebrities dressed up on the red carpet.

Although I do enjoy the casual comedic stylings of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the extensive acceptance speeches for movies I have never heard of really does get to me. I have nominated who I believe is the best and worst dressed this year at the Golden Globes and make sure to tune into the new Fashion Police, Monday nights on E! News with the hilarious Kathy Griffin as your host!

The Best

Kate Hudson

I don't just put this pretty lady on the best dressed list because she's my favorite actress. Although the dress is quite revealing, I do think she has the body to pull it off really well while looking quite elegant at the same time. Best of all, she delivers each and every year with a fresh look that makes her glow. The black dress is Kate from last years Golden Globes.

Ellie Kemper

While I love this woman's quirky character on The Office, I also love her well-fitted, sparkly, and intricate dress this year. I think the jewels from head to toe really pull the outfit together and are not too flashy. This also is the perfect hairstyle for such a busy dress.

Christy Teigen

Wow. Victoria's Secret model and of course John Legend's wife really pulled this pale pink sequined dress off well. Christy looks stunning on and off the red carpet, but this look really brings out her curves and The color was different, yet subtle with all of the beautiful sparkles.

The Worst

Keira Knightley

Why yes those are glimmering butterflies on her dress....I really have no words for this outfit choice. Wearing a dress that was originally window curtains is just asking to be on the worst dressed list. Not to mention the matching butterfly bracelet to match. Maybe next year, Keria.

Melissa McCarthy

After losing 40 pounds, Melissa does look great! However, if I wanted to show off my recent weight loss, I don't think I would choose this shirt and skirt combo. I think her hair and makeup are very pretty, but without the right outfit, nothing can come together.

Claire Danes

This dress is way to busy for the red carpet event in my opinion. Plus, it was way too baggy on the top and needed proper hemming. I do love Claire in the show Homeland, but the dress is all wrong.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
