To My Person

She’s my person. If I murdered someone, she’s the person I’d call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor. She’s my person.

Everyone has a person, they are more than just a rando' off the street, they are more than a friend, and even more than a best friend. Simply put, they are your person. The one you go to when you need advice, the one you call late at night when the world around you is falling apart and the one you text to ask if the selfie you just took is Instagram-worthy. They are more than just a phone call every once in a while, more than coming around when it’s convenient, and someone who deserves a whole bunch of ‘Thank You’s’ they should have gotten a long time ago. You might not have known them the longest but you sure as ever know them the best and deep down you know that you would go completely and utterly insane without them in your life.

To My Person,

Thank you for sticking by my side through it all. I can’t stress enough how much it means to me that you chose to be my friend even when I thought it was cool to wear crocks with knee high socks. No really, thank you so very much for not only being seen in public with me while I was wearing this trendy outfit but supporting my decision to step foot out of the house in it. I don’t know what I did on this great big planet earth to deserve such a kind and genuine person, but good gravy it must have been something big.

There are so many things I haven’t thanked you for, most of which I have taken for granted, like taking over your room when I sleep over and going to hibachi at least once a week even though you got food poisoning from there that one time. Thank you for going out of your way to bring me donuts, and driving all the way to my school just to say hi. While you don’t get the recognition you deserve most of the time (and by that I mean 107% of the time), know that I am eternally grateful for all the shenanigans you have done for me.

When I have experienced my absolute best days you were right there by my side experiencing them with me, and when I have gone through my absolute worst days you were right there by my side supporting me through them. That in itself is a debt that I will never be able to repay. I can only hope that when we grow up and have kids of our own they will run around on strike trying to convince us to let them have a sleepover because they too are as close as we are (I also hope our plan to become Real Housewives while driving around in G-Wagons comes true for very obvious reasons).

When it comes down to it no amount of words can describe how blessed I am to have found a best friend in you. You are the apple to my pie, the peanut butter to my jelly, the North to my Penelope, and most importantly the best to my friend. You can bet your bottom dollar we will continue to cause trouble well into our 90's rolling around in wheelchairs and sipping on red wine (or pink lemonade) with the hopes of being the most rad old ladies ever.

Love you long time.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
