A Muggle's Christmas List

Just A Muggle Girl Dreaming of A Wizard World

A Muggle's Christmas List
Second Year Christmas, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

With the movie, Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them, the prelude to the Harry Potter series, just being released in theaters this past weekend I felt it was only right to go back over the HP movies and make a list of things that would be awesome to have in the real world.

1) The Marauders Map

You can't tell me this wouldn't be an awesome thing to have. You could easily see where your boss is so you know when it's time to log off Facebook or you can easily avoid that person that just drives you up a wall. This would have totally came in handy during one of those school field trips we took ages ago.

2) A Phoenix, like Fawkes

Fawkes was a truly amazing creature. In the second film we watch him pass away and be reborn from the ashes and then heal Harry with his tears. Oh and don't forget the dramatic exit he helps Dumbledore pull off in the exit in the fifth film. How awesome would that exit be after you walked across the stage and finally received that piece of paper you have been working so hard for.

3) INVISIBILITY CLOAKS!!

This one could be a bit tricky because of course we would want one to use but would we want everyone to have one? It gets a little "Big Brother" very quickly when you think about. While I would like to pinky promise that I would only use the cloak for good, I'm sure I would soon fall short on that promise. The bright side is how awesome this would it be, until you imagine our professors or parents with one...

4) Time-Turners

Finish a four years of college in only two years without compromising our education all while taking out less money from loans, um yes! With a time-turner we would be unstoppable. Gen-eds would so easy and we would be able to take as many hours without the extra charge of $400 dollars. We could have more time to study for an exam or even go back and improve the grade. Teachers may dislike this but its at the top of my wish list.

5) Brooms and Being able to Apparition

Brooms that could fly would be so awesome considering we already have Quidditch teams on many college campuses and they would totally make it more interesting. No matter, brooms would still be a booger to carry around and we all know if you leave a broom laying around some little kid may steal it (sorry had to throw a little Hocus Pocus humor in there). Apparition is going to be the way to travel. If you are running, if you are on an awful date, or if you just don't feel like driving home. This would be the coolest thing in the world.

Write below in the comments if you feel up to it, I want to know what you wish we muggles had from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Please though no spoilers for Fantastic Beast, the internet leaks enough as it.

April Ludgate
NBC Universal

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.
