Dear Mommy,
As six months until move-in day has now turned into days, I have several things I want to thank you for. I begin to look back on all that you have done for me the past 18 years. I appreciate everything you have ever done for me, big or small. I cannot think you enough for all the love and support you have showered me with over the years. There are so many things that you do that I am thankful for. You were my first best friend. You are always there for me, no matter the situation I am in. You love me unconditionally, no matter how much I get on your nerves sometimes. You are the best role model a girl could ask for and I strive to be like you on a daily basis. I honestly have no clue where I'd be if I didn't have you.
Thank you for all of your support. You were just as excited as I was when I received my college acceptance letters. We both jumped up and down and cried together. Thank you for traveling all over North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama to let me tour my dream schools. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on when it was decision time and I wasn't prepared to decide.
Thank you for all the little things you did for me, like making my lunch every morning before school or picking my dirty clothes off my bedroom floor. Thank you for always providing me with food, even after you have had a long and busy day at work. You amaze me at how well you deal with multi-tasking and stress. I will never understand how you do it.
You are beautiful, strong and generous to not only me and our family, but to everyone you come into contact with. I want to thank you for all the time, effort and money you put into my childhood. Thank you for always supporting my decisions to try new sports and hobbies.
Thank you for keeping me sane, even when I felt like my world was falling apart. Without your encouraging words, I probably wouldn't have made it out of senior year as successfully as I did. Thank you for all the guidance and advice you have provided me with over the years. You taught me right from wrong and you always knew what's best for me, even if I felt like it wasn't.
You complete our family. Without you, we would totally fall apart.
Leaving you to move into college is going to be so weird. I am so used to you waiting for me to get home, making sure I was safe. I will miss all the home cooked meals, shopping trips and Netflix marathons. I'm not sure what I am going to do without you, Mom. You're my best friend. I will come visit you often and you're always welcome to visit me. I love you. I am going to miss you oh so much. I am so very excited to start my new chapter. I couldn't have made it this far without you.
Love always,
Your little girl.
P.S. Thank God for FaceTime, right?
