My Mom And The Woman I Call My Best Friend Is Indescribable

Most people believe and swear their mom is a superhero. Their mom is indescribable that's how amazing she is. Most people are wrong; that's because my Mom is extraordinary and she is the strongest, most selfless and supporting woman on this planet. My mom happens to be a single mom which makes her that much more amazing.

See, my Mom is from a different planet that's how special she is. Everything I have learned has stemmed from her words of wisdom and her encouragement. I never once doubted her hugs or the advice that was much needed.

My mom is different than all the other mom's on this planet. She has been pushed down to her lowest points and never once did she give up on my sister and I, her job, or her duties as a daughter and friend. See, she is not invincible but she sure is unique and finds the light at the end of the tunnel with everything and anything she has handed.

I learned my Mom was unbelievably strong when I was still in elementary school and I was reminded of it every single day. But, last August my Mom turned my life upside down, in the best way possible. I was away at school, because then I thought I wanted to be away from home, I quickly realized I didn't belong there and needed to come home. My Mom really had no idea how serious I was until she made it her mission to come up to school and try and calm me down. The second I saw her, I broke down and sobbed in her arms. We chatted about the different options I had but she knew I needed to come home. She immediately took the stress, anxiety and fear I had away.

I didn't think my Mom could make me feel the way I did that day. She made me feel so important and so loved in such a short amount of time. My mom is indescribable. Everything she has done in her life has been for both my sister and my success and happiness.

She is the most important person on this Earth and I would do anything and everything for her. Sure we have our arguments and our differences but I couldn't have thanked God for a better woman to me my Mother and best friend.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
