My Listicle Of Thanks

Just a list of thanks for no particular reason, but it's cool.

I’m going to go down the line of saying thanks to everyone or anything that has impacted me. But I will warn you, some of them will be sarcastic, but that’s not my problem; It’s yours depending on who you are and what you’ve done to impact me. Sorry not sorry.

My Parents

They’ve both been pretty cool. But I think cool is an understatement. They’ve been there for me ever since I was little and was relearning how to literally speak English all the way to my graduation. Even with all the mistakes that I’ve made, they still find a way to love me -- or at least they seem to.

My Family

Everything from the crazy times to the late nights playing the card game Golf or the game Right Left Center, either way the time spent together was worth it. And the memories will never be forgotten. The love that we all possess is what holds us together.

My Friends

Y’all allow me to be me, and even when I’m too stupid at times you still laugh with me and at me. Or if I’m being a brat, you’ll join in and be a brat too; it really helps. Even when I’m talking about sports, you still put up with me, and for that I appreciate it.

My Roomies

Yeah, I apologize for when I’m on my period, my annoying habits that I have, and everything else. But after all, you’re all stuck with me this year. But most of all, thanks for committing to living with me. It’ll be a great year. I promise.

My friends that I don’t talk to anymore

Through everything that we’ve gone through, thanks for opening my eyes to realizing who I really need to be friends with. Without you, I probably wouldn’t have found the real friends I needed in my life.

The one who broke my heart

I mean really, I learned that I deserve better. Even if you’re a solid foot taller than me, you still didn’t treat me to my proper height of five three. It felt great knowing or at least having to worry that you were talking to other girls behind my back. That felt so great, like better than sex.

My hometown

The Black Hills have been my backyard since I was little, and the town of Rapid City (the town itself- not all of the people in it) has treated me pretty well over the years. But I know that once I leave into the real world of God knows what city/town/state/country/province I may live in, Rapid City will be my one and only hometown.

University of North Dakota and The Fighting Sioux

To me, my school’s mascot will always be the Fighting Sioux. Ever since I was twelve I had always known that UND would be my school and my mascot was always going to be the Fighting Sioux. Without the new (trash) logo, It’s not even comparable to the Fighting Sioux logo. Period. End of story. But truly, I love knowing that I go to the school of my dreams.

Last but not least,

The Gym

My sanctuary, my home. I love knowing that I can go somewhere and be free to do anything I want to that will allow me to improve myself…I mean, other than school. But going to the gym does a girl good.

This was just a short list of thanks, but there's hell of a lot more than this.

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

The Perks of Being a Girl

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
