you say it's deflection,
i call it protection,
cause truly i hate this host,
glued to my hip,
and throwing a fit,
i know i can't let her go.
grinding my teeth,
she fuses to me,
time to dig and search for my core.
i wish i could hug her,
or tuck her in covers,
but she'd prefer i leave her unscathed.
for a moment she's silent,
and i grow content,
with our lonely disillusionment.
