My Last Summer

For all of the seniors heading into their final year of college.

My Last Summer
Don'tStayPut

To all of my my rising senior friends, it is sad to say that we have arrived to this point, making this our last "summer" ever! This is definitely worse than leaving elementary school and not having recess anymore.

Of course summer still exists, but everything we thought we knew about summer (and have waited in anticipation for all year), is about to change, drastically!

Most likely still recovering from this past semester's finals week, you have finally reached the cool down phases. You're not burnt out anymore, but just content. Content with being home, with your hometown friends and of course with your family. But what happens when you finally realize this is your last summer?

Say goodbye to sleeping in, late nights, bonfires, toes in sand, amusement park days and concert nights. I'm not saying they are all completely over, but you definitely won't be able to pack them all in once adulthood approaches (especially in your new entry level position).

Where did summer go?

Maybe you are ready to rush through summer (like I am) to get to the excitement you have planned throughout the year! Or maybe you're not ready, and you are nervous because you don't know what your future entails. It's OK -- you still have a little over a month to get it together.

But don't stress!

You still have a whole year to figure it out -- it just might be more stressful with lectures, late nights, and partying! Did I say partying? I meant to say "studying."

But there is definitely plenty of time, I promise.

Let's fast forward to graduation:

Think about it: you will be so excited about your new beginning you will be like, "summer who?"

You will be so relieved that you have conquered those draining finals (hopefully), and made it across that stage with your family chanting your name, you won't even think about having to start your new job in the upcoming weeks.

But for now, let's breathe and thank just about everything on this beautiful earth that we still have a whole year to figure this whole situation out.

Who knows, you may love college oh so much that you decided to take an extra year or even attend grad school.

But till then, relax enjoy your time away from your studies with your friends family and most importantly yourself! Cherish this last summer with memories of endless possibilities and adventure. Do it before you say I wish I (fill in the blank). Do it all, do it all now, so you can look back and say, "Wow, that was the best (last) summer."

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time.
