From a students point of view having an internship is key to finding out what type of career you want to go into. Being a student in college, having an internship is good experience to figure out you life and what you want to do. My experience with having one, is that it is good overall. Although mine is not paid, I still learned a lot about how a company works, and what type of work is done with an insurance agency. The company that I work at is called Employer Assurance Solutions. They specialize in marketing for College Scholarships and they go into companies and help set up benefits such as 401(k) and get scholarships for their employees children.

So far, the type of work I have been doing is HR/Operations Management. This work is about sending email, and making sure people get information regarding the program of scholarships. The other type of work that I do i call people who are looking to work at the company, EAS. Basically anyone who wants to interview/work for the company or anyone who is interested in the type of work. Overall, my experience has been good, but I do wish it was paid. Oh well! Life goes on and internships are good to have when you are in college.

Some Tips for an Internship:

1. Start early, and apply many places.

2. Keep trying if you don't get any bites on your applications.

3. Once you have one, keep up the good work.
