My Inspirations To Write

My inspirations that have sent me on a destination

My Inspirations To Write

All the best writers get inspired by events or people that come across their lives. Edger Allen Poe was inspired by the murder case of Mary Cecilia Rogers when he wrote “The Mystery of Mary Roget”. Charles Dickens was inspired to write “A Tale of Two Cities” from a play that he himself acted in called “The Frozen Deep”. Then there is my personal favorite, Stephen King, who was inspired to write one of his most famous novels called “IT”, when he walked across a bridge in cowboy boots. Many great pieces of literature have come from a number of inspirations. I myself have a number of inspirations behind writing these articles, and falling in love with writing in general. These are the people that I have to thank.

My high school English teacher who pushed me to always do better on my essays, made class fun, and picked out the best novels for us to read. My cat Boots who is consistently sitting directly on my keyboard anytime I am writing an article, perhaps he is trying to telepathically give me input. My number one fan who even on the worst of my articles, still tells me that I’m a stunning writer. My roommates who actually were the first to come to mind when I had to write an article last minute. My past relationships I’ve had that now fuel me with a fire to do better. My lovely orientation team, and the girl who gave an open invitation to write these articles. My God who gave me a gift to have a way with words. My senior class and the number of memories we’ve had. My youngest brother who enjoys and encourages my story telling. My best friend who has my back for everything and anything. My wild imagination that keeps me up at night. My favorite author, Stephen King, who can tell a story and twist the ending just the way I like it. Also, last but not least my Nan who I sometimes feel as though she is giving me advice on what to write herself.

These are all the people I have to thank for shaping the young writer that I am today. I may not be the next Hemingway, but without you guys, I would not be where I am today. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Through this experience I have accomplished a number of goals that I never even thought were possible. Since then I have raised my goals, but before then, I would have never dreamed to make a hobby of mine be public for the whole world to see. I used to think anything that I could show someone had to be perfect, or it wouldn’t be good enough. My views since then have changed, so thank you again.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
