My Holiday Traditions

I am very big on traditions, and sometimes my family gets annoyed.

My Holiday Traditions

In This Article:

Yes, I am so serious.

Matching Pajamas

This is a new one for my family, in fact we just started last year. Last year my mom, sister and me all got matching PJs. My little brother and step dad got matching ones also, since ours were a little "too girly" for them. This year we decided to just let the girls do matching PJs. It is something simple, yet so fun for us.

Go see Christmas Lights

Whether we go to the zoo, drive thru lights or even around our neighborhood; we always make a point to see other people's decorations. Lights are one of the many beautiful things around the holidays. Colorful or white, they are always so pretty and bright. The perfect extra sparkle, to finish your decorating.

Reading the The Night Before Christmas

This is also a new tradition of ours. We started last year, and gave everyone a chance to read. This year we drew a name out of a hat and my sister will read it to us on Christmas Eve. We also decided that whoever reads it, has to wear a Santa hat while reading.

Hot Coco, Cookies & other treats

I love to bake around the holidays. Sometimes we bake brownies, cookies or even pies. Then we make hot coco, because whether it's cold outside or not, hot coco is a must. We also can't resist making gingerbread houses! Then of course we make cookies for Santa and leave milk.

Christmas Movies

This, by far, is my favorite tradition of ours. Every year we watch Elf, The Grinch and Home Alone. I watch a bunch of Hallmark Movies with my mom and sister. Most importantly, every year we watch "It's A Wonderful Life", on Christmas Eve Night. This perfectly sums up our traditions and why we do them. Christmas is celebrating Jesus' Birthday with the ones you love, and I couldn't ask for a better family to celebrate with.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
