My goodbye to Odyssey

Well everybody. This is it. This is my goodbye to Odyssey.

Oh boy am I sad to go, but it is what I need to do for my own wellbeing.

I've been here since the beginning of Odyssey at Wartburg and became editor-in-chief (EIC) this past summer.

It was so fun to get to know not only my fellow creators on campus, but also other EICs from around the country.

I got to know people that I would have never known on my own. I've got to read their persona stories as well as their opinions on other not-so-serious things. And it's been so rewarding.

As readers, you probably don't see all of the stories that come out; but let me say. They are powerful. I have laughed and cried at so many stories I've read over the months. I have watched my creators grow as people and writers.

Saying goodbye is definitely hard for me.

So why do it?

Well I guess it strictly comes down to time. Next semester, I'm taking nearly double the amount of classes a normal person takes. And they're all senior-level classes or internships so there will be a lot of work with it. I'm looking forward to my beyond-crazy schedule and I'm beginning to cut extra curricular now.

My mental health needs it, honestly.

So... goodbye Odyssey. I'll miss you.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

music sheet

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
